For $350 you could get a closer maybe even sc'd. Honestly marqs don't get a lot of love but they're fantastic.

This. Closers are some of the best markers I've shot. Feel great, shoot smooth, and as it's a Bob Long gun, you know it'll last.
I recently picked up the Drone. For the price, they're great markers. They're a tad heavier than most stuff out these days, but the feel in the hands and the way it shoots reminds me of my old Shockers.
My only gripe is that the Drone's feedneck was weak. It cracked on me on the 3rd day of use, but MD has good CS and replaced it quickfast.

ive seen closers going for 300. I picked one up a few years ago when 550 was a steal for one and its still my main gun. even traded it for an ego9 once and got my same closer back

That's kinda funny that you ended up traiding for you old marker back.
Yeah, for that price, can do a LOT better than a 6.

It was quite a crazy trade. Traded my closer for an ego9 straight. Traded the ego9 for a darq marq plus 200. Traded the darq marq for my closer straight. Wont let it go again!

Oh, I LOVED the milling and the trigger on the Darq's. They were by far my favorite of the Gen1's.

I love my Drone DX. I refuse to buy any Bob Long markers although he does seem to be branching off (slightly) from the "Copy everyone else and charge 2x more" mentality that he used to have.

Lolwut the stacked tube poppet design was pioneered by BLAST. BL also had the first production inline poppet marker Im aware of and the Gen 5 timmies were cheaper priced than most other high-ends.
That was pretty off topic, the Drone and Marqs are both great markers for the price but in general:
Used Supergun > New mid-range

To each their own. I have deep rooted dislike for Bob and his markers. As I said before "the mentality he used to have", meaning I have seen this change.
Still...having met Bob a few times and trusting MacDev more. I would go with the Drone DX. I do agree that a used supergun is better than a new mid range most of the time. Do your research because a EGO 2 is not going to be better than a new mid range.

You may dislike Bob as a person but he has done very little copy cating compared to the rest of the market. His stacked tube EP poppet markers were the first of their kind and he has led the market with them since. The gen 1 marq, outside of the old E bolt model 98 was the first inline non-pressure controlled poppet, and was a huge jump from what the Ebolt was.
As for which to buy, I love Macdev and don't think buying one of their markers is ever a mistake. Their original Cyborgs were arguably the best stacked tube poppet markers of the day. I did just pick a Marq 6 up for $175 in perfect condition though. If I could find a drone for that price I'd jump on it and try it too, but until that day I'm going to stick with my Marq 6.

Bahaha... You have no clue. The intimidator is THE design that was ripped off by the ego, nxe, cyborg, alien, etc. As for the charge 2x as much... I'm still not following. Then gen5 timmy (vice/ protege) were under $1000 while almost all of their competitors (ego, etc) were $1000+. He didn't change mentality, he just improved technology and continues to offer the market true high-end performance at a competitive price.

Lately, Bob's been slapping the $1500 MSRP on his flagship guns, but his pricing has always been lower than the competition.

you'll likely prefer they way the marq shoots. being a bob fan it hurts to say, but the features like oled board and efficiency and just the fact that it's newer make me suggest the drone. and yeah, for 350 you could likely find a supercharged closer, in which case if you do, go with the closer, just make sure you have an lpr pressure tester.

That is for special milling... compare a dragon to a SL ego and it's $1500 vs $2000. Still cheaper.

The drone doesn't have an OLED.
