Bush never had veterans that worked with him in combat situations that volunteer on his campaign and testify that he saved their lives.

Bush also doesn't have FAR more vets that worked along side (not directly under) come out and put into question many of his war "stories"!

It's quite apparent Kerry did serve his country which in itself is admirable, but if he lied, fabricated "less than truth's" and decided to paint himself a "Vietnam Hero" as opposed to addressing the "issues"...then by all means, it's open season and theres always two sides to a story! ;-)

Yeah, I wish he would release some more indepth plans about economic policy etc instead of relying on his vietnam experience to get him through but I've looked at his voting record I like what I see.

If only dean were still in...

Listen, men... this election is not about who is the bigger war hero.

Kerry was more involved in the war than Bush, end of story. Is that ANY reason to vote for Kerry? Absolutely not.

If the thread starter began this to simply discuss, then so be it. Bush is not riding on his 'national guard experience', but Kerry is very proud of his service. The problem with Kerry being outgoing with this is that it reveals a lot more about him, especially his war protests and senate voting record.

Bush never made any claims against Kerry's Vietnam service. The republican group that did this was a the Swift Boat crew-- a coalition of war veterans that have no connection to the Republican party.

Bush and Kerry's involvement in the Vietnam war is trivial information.

It's odd to think that in 25 years this same exact issue could very well be brought up in the election (concerning participation in the Iraq war). Simply interesting.
