SSC Bolt

Has anyone tried the new SSC soft face bolt for their X yet? I’m curious to see how it fairs and if there is a significant difference in sound as the company claims? I don’t have any issues with my X being anything but great on paint just curious on the sound signature and if the shot sound was reduced even more than stock.

I now have three X's on my team with the SSC bolt installed. Two of them needed to change the ORings that came stock and one of them is running fine with the SSC installed rings.

I can't notice a god damn difference myself. Sound? I think the barrel kit you have on the gun makes more of a difference than the bolt.I never had a rollback issue with the stock bolt either.

I got it to test and if I handed you two markers - you would not be able to tell me which one has the SSC bolt installed.

There is nothing design wise between the two Bolts that would affect the sound signature.

Appreciate the feedback...sound signature whether changed or not isn’t a factor for me I was wondering on the affect of being easier on paint. Hitting a few tourneys this season and although I haven’t had issues breaking paint I haven’t shot a ton of brittle paint so was trying to do some home work before I get there. Maybe I’ll wait and see how it handles first.

It needs the Bolt for better tournament Paint handling. The stock Bolt allows too much roll back - that’s why it causes breaks. The SSC soft tip fixes that somewhat. I would probably want it on hand if I was going to try playing a tournament with a Luxe X.

the soft tip actually indents into the bolt itself. the rubber is actually too soft and defeats the purpose of there being a soft tip at all.

But it’s already in contact with the Paintball, unlike the stock bolt, so there isn’t any impact on the Paint. Thus lessened breaks.

Are people actually having issues with thier x breaking paint? Shot 5 star through it at every event without any issues

but the issue with the SSC bolt is that the "soft" part of the bolt is actually indented into the bolt itself. the rubber might to too soft to keep its shape.
