v16 Necesary?

Got a deal on a 2.0 but is has the standard engine. Seeing a lot of listings out there emphasizing the v16 upgrade. Lots of posts about how "smooth" the shot is afterward, efficiecny, yadda yadda.

Assuming i don'tr really care about that stuff; how bad does the platform NEED the v16? Does it address any actual performance issues/problems? or is it just a shot improvement? Haven't found any on the cheap or used. So im pretty reluctant to drop 200 retail on one right now.

It pretty much just gets rid of the Springs in the Bolt System and trades it for more forward air bias. Slight difference in the shot but I doubt that it would be very noticeable.

Basically just makes it more reliable.

Interesting. So here's a dumb-dumb follow-up. I've pulled my engine out and i don't see any springs. What version do I have?

I haven't been able to get an air fill yet, so not really sure what i have.

Should be a Spring inside the front of the Bolt.

I’ve seen Pictures of the Spring in different locations... It just helps push the Bolt forwards to counter any chances of FSDO.

If you ordered a Vanquish Bolt Spring it will be the correct part.

Here is the Vanquish Manual:

http://www.paintballsolutions.com/pd...Manual-ENG.pdf

They show the Spring on the Rod.

I’m not even really sure that it’s absolutely necessary if you aren’t having any FSDO or Bolt Stick problems.

I'll get the spring before i get air, so moot at this point. def gonna skip v16 unless i get a killer deal though. retail will cost as much as two days of play and now Empire will be killing support, so yeah.

Empire hasn’t been a company for a while now...

It’s GI that isn’t supporting the Vanquish.

I called there yesterday with a question about the eyes on my Vanquish, and guy volunteered to send me a new set of eyes for free, without me asking.

That seems like support to me...?

They're really backed the gear, in my experience. Every bit of Empire gear as far as hoppers and guns I've got has had nothing but solid support from the GI guys.

Are they "developing" the Vanquish into more/newer/different versions? No, but what's really changed in other spools since they became a big thing? Planet has done some interesting stuff. DLX revamped their bolt... but so did Empire. That's exactly what the V16 is. Did it need to be an entirely "new" gun, called a Vanquish 2.1, 3.0, Vanquish-X?

Read the title of the post you linked... "Where to BUY a Vanquish GT asa?"

Products are PURCHASED through a dealer.

We as a manufacturer do warranty and service repairs. And that STILL includes full support on Vanquish markers.
No need here for your spreading of false information!

got the spring installed and got air for a test.

- about 30*F where im at
- GI field paint, unknown grade box says "multi-grade", been sitting in my closet since October.

couple breaks trough two pods; but breech and bolt are clean so assuming barrel bursts. even so, shot through breaks nicely and could shoot the sticks i wanted at avg ranges. Pretty happy all things considered.

no fsdo or bolt stick in my cold temp, so not really considering the v16 anymore at this stage. if opportunity arises to get a deal, that's different, as it will probably need v16 to re-sell at reasonable #

thanks for all the help.

I received great support from them, bought a used Vanquish 2.0 with a massive leak. Spoke to Tim who told me to send it up and the most it would cost would be $25.00. Gun was shipped on a Thursday, got gun teched and in my hands the following Wednesday. I would qualify that as pretty great service. And it was teched for free of charge and shipped back free too. Their service is some of the best I have received in Paintball, IMHO

Leave the gun outside for an hour. That'll highlight the difference between stock and V16.

To wit...I just bought a new MiniGS/Axe Pro reg for my Axe 2.0 because I wanted the gauge. ANS had it in stock and I had it in 3 days. they also have the Vanquish and Axe 2.0 ASAs.

The big deal about the v16 bolt is you will never have bolt stick I played in 10 degree weather and had not one issue . As for GI customer service I had a bad noid and they replaced it for 35$ including shipping and updated the board and set it to nxl settings for me

I just ordered my V16 from Trademygun.com for $99.99. Hopefully there isn’t anything wrong with it, I believe they are sold as new.

This makes me happy. I was honestly thinking there must be something wrong being that itís being sold for such a low price. I am very excited and canít wait to try it out.
