Shooting w/1 or 2 eyes open??

I've shot firearms and played games where you point and shoot at arcades etc.. for some reason I've found myself shooting w/both eyes open in paintball... anyone else doing this even though they normally use their dominant eye?

tl;dr Need advice on whether to shoot w/1 or 2 eyes open..

both, like pistol shooting, both eyes open. u can see the sight and the target at the same time, jsut kinda overlapped if ur eyes are on opposites sidesof the feedneck (low exposure). other wise i guess u could tilt ur hopper in(elbow then comes out a bit) or stick ur head out just a bit more, use both eyes normally. search "paintball snap shooting" on you tube and ull get some good tips.

close both eyes, so when you get shot, you can keep playing on if the ref doesn't know it and actually say you didn't see it

...not as funny as I'd hoped the first "close both eyes" joke would be. Good effort though.

Keep both eyes open. You "point" a paintball gun more than you aim it anyway. Also, given the fluid way paintball moves, voluntarily restricting your vision by closing one eye for any amount of time could prove disastrous for you or your team mates.

It depends on the shot i'm trying to make. If I find myself at a longer range really trying to focus in I tend to use one eye, but if i'm running around and at mid-to close quarters I just use both eyes open so I don't get that tunnel vision feeling I get with using one eye.

Always use both eyes open. When you close an eye you lose depth perception, which can throw off your shot. After a while you will hit a target faster than somebody with one eye at any distance.

You don't use a paintball marker like a real gun at all (with the exception of First Strike capable "sniper rifles"). You would have best results using both eyes as the depth perception allows you to calibrate your shots, even before you shoot. That means less shots and aiming time before you hit the target... Which is pretty nice.

i shoot real rifles with one eye but that's because most of the time i'm shooting when nothing can shoot back. in paintball i use two because i need a good field of view to make sure while im out there on the field there isnt someone shooting back at me at another angle. gotta stay vigilant.

U don't "aim" a pb gun. It's more point and shoot. Try playing in a real game with one eye closed. let me kno how that works out for ya.

I usually use one eye if I am in the woods, I zone out real easy so it helps me focus. Ill try the two eye approach next time im out though. Im already a fairly good shot IMO but this could help improve even more

they tell snipers to shoot with both eyes open, at least thats what my boy in the marines told me.
shooting in paintball with two eyes open helps you pick up big moves with you perriferal vision (or however you spell it)

The only times I've ever shot with 1 eye is when in woodsball you have a gun with actual iron sights (like a Model 98 or SL-68II) and are taking that very first carefully aimed shot at someone that doesn't know you're there yet. For the other 99% of the time in woodsball and 100% of the time in speedball it's 2 eyes open looking at the target/field and "feeling" the gun/aim (you'll get good at it eventually, I can 1 shot people with no sights and a center feed now...which seemed impossible when I started playing backyard ball...it just takes time)
