Smile Sonny7's lame Nova restoration thread
My dad bought me a 74 Nova from our local junkyard for 800 dollars. I don't have a liscence and have never owned a car, so this is my first. My best friend's dad is going to help me a lot on this project. He's letting me keep the Nova at his body and paint shop and work on it there.

It's in horrible shape, the previous owner tried to restore it I think and bondo'd over dents and rust. What I plan to do is some paint and body work, it's going to be my daily driver. I'm not going to build the engine or race it.

It currently has a straight 250 with a powerglide, which doesnt run since the fuel pump is broken. My friend's dad is giving me a 305 with a 700r(I think) and says that'll be better on gas.

I didn't apply any bondo to it, that was all the previous owner. All I have done so far is sanded down the fender and some of the hood.

Thanks guys. Yeah that whole roof line was filled in with bondo, not sure what the previous owner was thinking. Me and my friend removed all the bondo. We cut the rest of the rust off and were going to weld a strip on there. But that was a month ago, as you can see there's a bit of surface rust that i'm gonna have to clean up because. The same is going to happen to the fender if I don't finish the front end soon.

Yeah I'm going to tuck the bumpers later on

The 74 isn't my favorite Nova year, but I'm happy with what I have. And as you can see what I have isn't much ha

but the older generations are alot of money compared to that one to try and find.

i know where a bunch are (a friend of ours hordes the mid 60's nova's ) but he wants either a fortune for them or doesn't want to get rid of them..
