lol, it's funny who takes those seriously. I have a intel buddy who I deployed twice with. I read an article about a particular Afghani who was killed by the Taliban a while ago. We were in a bar, that was empty, in Maryland, and I brought it up and he got all Secret Squirrel.

Triple H is dead. Good riddance you boy raping ****.

That kinda goes outside of my areas of expertise, bro. Off the top of my head, the Oakley gloves with knuckles would be where I'd start my research.

Oh he knew he was dirty. He just didn't give a ****. Triple H could put a lul in the fighting and that was all that mattered. Dude wanted to pick up full bird and he knew that if his AO got a ton of casualties when it was previously quiet. So yea, two guys got shot and one guy (who couldn't swim worth a ****) mysteriously jumped in the water to save some Afghan police piece of ****. Yea, I'm sure, I'm sooooooo ****ing sure.

Meanwhile, in Sangin . . .

oh, by the way....this is what I posted on reddit to the owner of that new electronic AR-15 trigger. Yeah, the formatting is all ****ed up on here, but I'm too lazy to readjust the links.

Doug J Kiffmeyer,

Please consider this an open letter.

When you posted the *"Digital Trigger (I am the owner)"* thread here on reddit, it's assumed that you wanted to promote your trigger platform. Your [@dougjkiffmeyer](https://twitter.com/DougJKiffmeyer) twitter handle ("Money Professor", how cute) posted the tweet ["I am going to start representing and pushing for interest in my favorite new venture. The Digital Trigger, multiple videos/links coming."](https://twitter.com/DougJKiffmeyer/s...04314820018176) near-simultaneously with this thread, which would confirm that assumption.

I take issue with the product and your statements made about said product.

**Patents**

Patents [US8807007](http://www.google.com/patents/US8807007), [US20130118050](http://www.google.com/patents/US20130118050), and [WO2012158975A1](http://www.google.com/patents/WO2012158975A1) are the patents I found relating to your product. All three credit Benjamin Alicea as the inventor, with the applicant or original assignee being Creative Digital Inc or Digital Trigger Technologies LLC. You claim to be the owner of Creative Digital and the self-appointed representative of this trigger.

>I own the patent for this digital trigger, I assure you it's different than anything you have seen on paintball weaponry

I have concerns with what you think your product is and is not, sir. Had you *read your own patent application*, you would find a paragraph in both US20130118050 and WO2012158975A1, stating:

>**Paintball** guns, which are not true firearms, have also utilized electronic triggers in place of mechanical triggers. **Paintball** guns are not true firearms because the common definition of "firearm" requires the weapon to ignite gunpowder to fire a projectile and **paintball** guns use compressed air. As a result, a **paintball** gun does not use any of the same mechanical parts, such as a hammer or sear, to fire a projectile, and instead uses a trigger actuated valve that allows a controlled release of compressed air from an air storage reservoir to launch a projectile. Regardless, some **paintball** guns have replaced mechanical actuated valving with electrically actuated valving because rapid fire is beneficial to **paintball** games and possessing an automatically firing **paintball** gun is not illegal in the United States or most (if not all) countries. However, reliability in the **paintball** art is not such great concern as in military and failures are more acceptable. Though it is doubtful that electric **paintball** mechanisms used to launch a ball of paint with air could be adapted to a firearm used to ignite gunpowder to fire a bullet, such systems would still be insufficient.

So, paintball was obviously on the mind of whoever wrote your patent application. In addition to this, you will find [four (4) citations](https://www.google.com/patents/US201...ward-citations) directly referencing paintball markers in US20130118050 (a third of the 12 citations), added by the patent examiner.

**Similarity in Product**

When most paintballers saw the [YouTube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzfQFRzZXPw) featuring Mike Otte of Michael’s Machines, it took a matter of seconds for them to realize that the technology utilized in your product was familiar. Indeed it was. (also, many of his claims are hyperbolic).

Your claims regarding similarity are as follows:

>It is similar in design I have noticed but patent wise you have 2 completely different products considering ours is designed to work with mechanical firearms. The design similarity was not intentional.

and

>The design simplicity was inspiring, but it was not until we finished the product design that we realized how similar, like I said our intention was not to rip any ideas off however the simplicity could not be ignored.

and

>I assure you it's different than anything you have seen on paintball weaponry

So, here we go:

The earliest example of the technology (that I’ve been able to find) is the “[Spyder Fenix 2004](http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/...01.jpg)” paintball marker, produced by Kingman. The [electronic display board in the Fenix](http://www.paintball-parts.com/Photo...cts/4823-2.jpg) is quite unique, which made finding it a lot easier, and is over a decade old. The uniqueness of the display is also something that doesn’t quite fit with an AR15, and should have been modified, [but obviously wasn’t](http://i.imgur.com/xdxgbo8.jpg). If your design was truly unique and innovative, you would have used a different electronic board and display system (which are readily available and more capable). But, you used the *exact* electronics components and display board as the paintball gun.

[Here’s a Spyder Fenix diagram](http://imgur.com/rRZeVmi), and [here’s a cleaned-up version](http://imgur.com/cDVnfZw). Now, compare that with [figure 8 of patent app US20130118050](http://i.imgur.com/mWrLpbv.png), and you’ve got an uncanny resemblance. Just rotate the board and solenoid 90 degrees, and I wouldn't be able to distinguish anything below the trigger.

So, Mr. Kiffmeyer, you have the same electronic board as a paintball gun, same layout of parts as a paintball gun, paintball guns are mentioned in the patent application, paintball guns are cited in the application, and yet…. you have denied all of these things.

I am excited for an electronic trigger for the AR Platform, and I think it'll be great. I am not excited that your company blatantly ripped off the work of another company and are lying about it now. I eagerly await your apologetic response.

Sincerely,

*GoldyGoldy*

Does anyone make a modernized version of the ALICE pack? Like one that has space specifically for a hydration pack?

Or if you have a better ruck sack that keeps the weight on the hips and disperses it across the shoulders, I'm all ears.

It would be really cheap to have a competent person sew in a hydration sleeve, reinforce a tube port, and upgrade all the buckles to faster on a surplus alice pack. This is what I did with my pack when I was in. Gave it to a friend who is still in.

Yes yes yes I'm a cheapskate.

Honestly, I've never liked the alice pack frame. Seemed so bulky. Too easy to get caught on something.

I was just going to rock an alice pack without.
