Inception High Pressure Regulator (HPR v.3)

High Pressure Regulator (HPR v.3) Details:

The newest high pressure regulator from Inception Designs. The HPR v.3 is now available in Polished Black, Matte Black, and Polished RAW.

This HPR was designed based off the Legendary Regulator used on the WGP Karnivor Electronic Autococker which was one of the fastest production Autocockers ever made (and our seals are still compatible with those regulators). We updated the reg within the performance pressure range used on most modern guns with a better spring stack, improved internal flow, protection for the reg seat to prevent damage, an anti-spike spring cap and we made it easier to work on by getting rid of the spring clip and by making the piston removable with a simple 10-32 bolt and the reg top with a 3/8 allen key. The rotating collar means the macro line will always align with your guns ASA. Comes with the macro line fitting.

Version 3 Features:
  • * New updated milling eliminating unneeded material making the HPR lighter.

    * Increased output pressure range (approx.75 psi up to tank pressure)

    * Over adjustment restriction - The bottom cap now prevents over adjusting.

    * Updated urethane o-rings - custom made on our own tooling to ensure consistency and quality

    * Custom spring washers to allow smaller pressure changes when adjusting and a greater output range. This will give you the ability to make finer adjustments with the HPR.

Curious how the over adjustment works if you can adjust it all the way up to tank pressure.

It simply means you can't back out the adjuster to the point that the oring seal moves past the body and gets blown out by the air pressure. It's already past the max output pressure at that point, and the adjuster screw is hanging out past the reg body, but some people like to keep cranking on stuff way past makes sense

Ahhh so its more a physical restriction on the adjustment screw, not of the pressure. got ya.

You've got to give Simon credit, he doesn't mess around. Everything he touches he improves.

Is there any chance these are going to be coming in a matte raw finish? I've got a gun I'm going to be assembling and it would be a little bit easier for me to just buy one if they're in the pipeline, but I won't be hurt if I have to media blast a polished raw one.

Oh yeah, completely brilliant guy. Got to have a beer with him in AC, wish I had more time or was even slightly prepared to pick his brain.

Yes, it's actually quite surprising how o-rings differ from manufacturers, manufacturing processes and production batches. To ensure the quality and sizing we want we had custom made tools and specify the best quality urethane that we know of for use in paintball o-rings.

In some places it doesn't matter much, if at all, but in others like regulators, it can be very important.

It's my curse. I see things and always want to make them better. "Good Enough" never has been for me.

matte is very subjective depending on who did the other parts. If you are doing a full gun with matching anodizing it is always best to media blast everything together (and at the same time, as using a media a few months later, or by someone else can even change the finish).

The options released are the only ones planned.

Thank you for the kind words. I am always willing to discuss paintball over a beer (or was, currently on a diet so no beer...). At Fulda Gap we had some legends in our booth, including Jack Wood, hanging out and talking paintball over some adult beverages (moonshine gets tongues moving...). It was a lot of fun. I am happy to consider myself a paintball geek

That shim stack spring setup reminds me a lot of the old macdev gladiator regs that were so damn effective.

How does this reg compare to the dye hyper 3? Any way to show why this reg is better than what else is out there?

There are a lot of good regulators now, and as long as they are all working as intended I suspect that any of them will do what is needed by 99% of players. I think the difference comes with the convenience features, such as the macro input location, and ease of service (taking regulators apart can be a *****) and operating range and performance at specific pressure outputs.
