Jon "LJ" Woodley and Zack Patient were both let go from Aftershock and will join the Brooklyn Bears semi-pro team for World Cup.

Lj is from new York. Maybe budget issues meant they couldn't fly him out anymore. Not sure on why let Zack go unless they are just downsizing their roster like heat did and Zack was the unlucky one.

Shock picked up a local player for cup, so I'm not sure if downsizing was the motive. Did Patient and Woodley both come back this year or in 2015?

I believe Patient came this year with Drew, and LJ came last year with Ronnie.

I'm more surprised that they were 'let go' than them leaving, personally.

aftershock has had a terrible year for some of the names they've picked up. i can see shock letting zack go, but not woodley.

I highly doubt it. I am sure that they wanted to play cup, got taken off the roster and found a place to play. Probably have a close friend on the bears and sent a text saying "Got room for 2 pros on your roster?"

LJ played with half of the bears back when he grew up on Long Island, left aftershock willingly with ZP. Confirmed

"let go" sounds like they got cut which makes this thread somewhat misleading.

Bears could have wrote them a check, or the way this season was going they wanted to have fun for a change and smash kids at cup in Semi Pro. Shock has only won 3 full matches this season. Something just isn't right with the program right now.

I find it hard to believe that Mikey would preach about loyalty and just cut guys right before cup. Have to figure it was a mutual parting but don't know.
