Not true where I am located in Southern Maryland, my local field is opening as of this weekend!

I saw an article stating that Gov. Hogan is starting to roll out Maryland's reopening plan which includes opening low risk businesses and activities (such as golf, paintball, etc.) starting next week.

Youll notice i posted this before Hogans address on Wednesday

Even with the Wednesday address, its fair to say paintball fields opening up is rather grey area. No one i have reached out to had a rebuttal to the fact that gatherings of larger than 10 are still prohibited. I can understand the way some keyboard lawyers can interpret that to make us allowed to play paintball again; I just want to be safe about things and do not want our field owners in any legal trouble.

I want to play paintball as much or more than most people, just want to be smart is all.

But youre right it looks like the bigger fields in the state are planing to open up this weekend.

Nashville Paintball Inc has been posting updates. The latest update mentions this weekend open tentatively, not sure if they can stick to that. The city itself starts their first phase of openings on Monday.

Nitro Paintball in Canton, GA. is open. Self equipped players only (right now), NO rentals at this time. Players are doing a really good job of distancing themselves in staging areas or staging from their vehicles.

"Wonka" needs to come back home! You're missed my friend!

Here in BC Canada, the fields will be opening up sometime mid May.
All the same jazz of sanitizing, distance while in the rest area, no more then 50 people including refs and staff. Renters gear will be sanitized a million times a day, thank god I have my own gear.

Just a quick sugestion from this side of the pond.
If you guys want to flatten the curve, stay at home.
Not only because of the Covid 19 transmission but also the not having acidents driving to the fields, braking bones on the field and other "normal" life happenings that will only put a burden to the people that are on the frontline.
If you go to medical care you will not be helping the medics and nurses that are taking care of the massive response of infected people.
You guys want to help the local field, be creative like buying paint from the field with vouchers like a bottle on a club.
Pledge future walkons.
Be creative and be safe.
Economy won't die if you stay at home it will only has to reinvent itself.

Unfortunatley not many will heed that advice. Fields will be loaded the next two weeks and owners taking "precautions" will be thrown out the window for sure. Going to go back to normal and spike the cases even more. People don't understand, it isnt themselves they are hurting, it is the virus they catch, that may barely even effect them, that they take home to their wife, or parents, or immunocompromised family member that is effected.

But as long as they get what they want, its okay.

well lets see how everything turns out in a week or two.

i dont think anyone going paintballing is going to get sick tbh. if they did get sick, it would be from going to the grocery store and then not washing you hands when you got home, or something along those lines.

Running around, exercising in the Sun and drinking fluids will do more good than harm.

Just don't have a random player cough in your mouth or stand within 3-6 feet of you, and if you're someone who gets sick easy, just stay home.

its not ****ing rocket science to stay healthy and not catch a virus....

+1 for sane advice during a pandemic.

What area are you talking from? Cause not ever place has massive infections as you suggest, in fact, many areas are below the curve and if people follow simple procedures will keep it below the curve.

Saw a youtuber streaming from a field yesterday... fair amount of people out and in the pits. But not a single person was wearing a face-covering bandana or anything.

Being outdoors is pretty safe, but the risk is not 0. Just for ****s sake be smart guys. YOU may not get sick and die, but you absolutely can be an asymptomatic carrier, and kill someone else.

If numbers start shooting up again because we got lazy, everything will shut down again. Just be smart.

Yeah.

It’s not like players are really close to each other anyways.

The only time is at the Start of NXL Points, so they might have to spread out a little more.

We play in masks and most people wear gloves too.

I really don’t think that people who are sick would play but it’s the a symptomatic people that we have to worry about.

Basically just treat everyone as if they and you are infected.

This is where I'm at mentally. South Korea had a week or two with zero (!!!) new cases, then all of a sudden someone asymptomatic spread it to a bunch of people and they're having to shut things down again. Not being patient just prolongs how long we'll be without the things we love. What exactly do we think will happen to businesses with an outbreak among the staff members? They'll have to shutter again and won't get any government assistance this time because "the economy is open".

I'm a high risk individual, so I'll be staying home other than for essentials probably until there's a vaccine because too few people are willing to go another month or two without a haircut.

global pandemic is not "normal" life happenings. Last one was what... 100 years ago? driving accidents, and breaking bones are false equivalencies to an airborne virus for which there is no vaccine or herd immunity.

I think he's trying to get at avoiding hospitals in general (i.e. for "normal" reasons) is good for not getting the disease while in the hospital and for helping take the burden off of healthcare workers

The protective measures in place at my field this weekend were 10 times worse than any grocery store I've been to since the start of quarantining. People couldn't even maintain social distancing lining up and getting into the field. I had to wade through groups of people just to get to my car once I was done.

Too many idiots out there right now, especially with the type of audience attracted to paintball.
