I raised my Dwell to max and occasionally have my first shot drop off, but the rest is all at the set fps. 17k shots and counting and no breaks. It doesnít require a lot of maintenance but I like to take care of it after a weekend of play anyways. If the paint is real good my shot grouping is very close, lanes especially. I can shoot half an inch off of each side of a dorito with precision, just back and forth. I prefer 16Ē barrels to help with my aim, I feel it helps with my accuracy overall, especially in snap shooting.

If I need to play back center and shoot a lot of paint, this is the gun to use. No issues hearing calls while Iím wheeling and dealing ( shooting my gat ), and teammates have no problem hearing me either. Gun handling is superb due to ergos and balance. But if Iím playing more aggressively and like a mid position and need to attack, I like the DSR better. Honestly between the two I have a hard time picking which one I like best, but I probably reach for the M3+ more.

I just picked up an M3S+ (has all the + parts except the slap ASA). I updated the software to the newest version (4.02.1) yesterday and the dwell still maxes out at 20, with a factory setting of 16. After reading the thread, it seems like the other recent update (version 4.01.1) raised the mx dwell (24) and factory setting along with it (20).

Am I missing something? I am going to get out with it this weekend and mess around a little, I doubt I will have to touch anything since the marker is well broken in (15 cases) and it's warm here in NJ, but I want to make sure I have room to adjust in the cold weather if needed.

Can anyone else confirm if they have version 4.02.1 released this month and what your dwell range is?

P.S. first Dye marker coming off PE and Macdev and the few shots I took with this thing were mighty impressive!!! I am pumped to play this weekend.

Go ahead and raise dwell to 18. I haven't updated software to latest version.

Sounds good, I think I will set dwell to 18 and maybe bump up the eye delay to 5. Those settings seem to be working for a lot of people.

Yeah the old update (V4.01.1) did have a maximum Dwell setting of 24 ms. and should have changed the stock Dwell setting to 20 ms.

I recommend running your Dwell at 20 ms. until it’s broken in.

Charlie I copied almost exactly your first posted setting except for some things, such as different orings. Just using Dye’s colors orings which I think work well. Flipped my reg seat, swapped most orings in the Bolt, but pretty much didn’t swap any from the reg, and then a fresh coat of lube to each- Bolt and Reg. Didn’t even inspect the solenoid this time around, just gonna assume it’s g2g. Bout to test it backyard and then pack it up for Saturday.

Right now Hp setting is showing 111. Seems like a happy medium till I can get to the event and a chronograph.

The First Post Settings are for an original M3s Bolt (just with the new M3+ BWing Solenoid Housing), not the M3+ Flex Face Bolt.

The settings later are for all of the M3+ parts:

Dwell 20, ABS 4-5 at 20 seconds, Eye Delay 8

Use them.

The first stage of the M3+ Flex Face Bolt has a tighter seal against the front inner Top Hat Oring which with the BWing Solenoid Housing causes the Dwell to need to be raised slightly.

My guess is you’ll probably have to turn your HPR up too...

Made the adjustments and it again shoots so good. Such an accurate gun- shot quality, lack of kick, ergonomics, just a powerful combination to make it so ball on ball.

Nice!

Yeah, I still love mine more than my DSR or M2 or anything else I’ve ever shot lol.

I’m also still running my Dwell around 20 ms but some people have been able to lower theirs slightly after break-in.

Although, that won’t help with efficiency or anything really. In fact if I try turning the Dwell down on mine it usually just makes it less consistent...

Now that’s something I’m keying on... Consistency did seem really stand out with Dwell @20ms. I’ll take that and sacrifice a little efficiency any day of the week. Good tinkering, Charlie and thank you.

And the way it’s shooting now I do like it better then my DSR, as far as shot quality goes. It’s just that the DSR has earned its place in my heart and mind as being such a great overall gun. It’ll always be one of my favorite guns ever.

With it being Dwell insensitive I doubt that there would be much if any efficiency decrease too.

Basically the only downside running a longer Dwell time has is possibly lowering the maximum Rate of Fire.

I’d definitely agree that the trade off of better consistency is worth it.
