New Inception Emek/Etha 2 body kit released - pics added!

Simon Stevens at Inception Designs has been creating a new aluminum body kit for the Planet Eclipse Emek and Etha 2.

It will include detent covers, feedneck, custom cut body, bushings and screws for use with the Etha 2, and even a Free Stella barrel and Free barrel case.

First guns will come in a huge range of colors since dealers were allowed to pick their own.

First run will be less than 200.

Watched the live feed. Damn him for always creating things I want to spend money on!

Very interested to see the body. There is some value here with both the feedneck and the barrel included but unfortunately I already have those upgraded on my Emek so not much incentive there for me. Will be hard to justify that kind of cash for a sexy body when it costs more than the gun itself but I will wait to see what it looks like first.

Simon has a true genius mind for designing things within the industry and it is just plain great to see him making stuff for other guns other than autocockers (not that he isn't one of that best at that as well).

I believe it was $275-ish for the body kit, eye covers, barrel, feedneck, and barrel case. There are going to be more expensive anno options available though as well as full guns and options to add the fang trigger upgrade.

Looking at the rear area, seems like the cap is integrated. Could this body eliminate the internal sleeve and include a new quick disconnecting back cap?

After the fang trigger, hair45, POPS, soft tip bolt.....might as well get a new body/feedneck/back cap lol. Not that I need a barrel but nice that they're including it.

it would be nice to have different package levels starting with just the body kit to the
"pro" kit that includes it all

I was just thinking the same thing. If you want to spend a $700 on an Emek you should have just bought an M170R. I bought mine because it was stupid cheap and works great out of the box. I can't even bring myself to buy one of those aluminum triggers for it because it defeats the purpose of being cheap but good.

wonder how much Inception branding will be on it? I like Inception products but i am not a fan of their logo being on everything they make. A nice clean body kit would be great.

I totally get that. If you’re on a tight budget though it’s nice to see an upgrade path that would allow you to incrementally get to a marker as nice as you want it.

Sadly I have to agree. Completely defeats the purpose of having a cheap functional gun out of the box. Still super cool that you can have an all-metal emek. Mixed feeling.....

Also paintballers: Why wouldn't I just buy a fully upgraded gun.

It's an option, not a requirement.

I think many people also bought an Emek not expecting to love it like they do. For those people upgrading makes sense.

Additionally the M170r doesn't feel the same in the hand as the Emek so some people may prefer that. (I personally prefer the rear grips on the Emek to the M170r grips)

Same. I like that thin, full wrap around rubber grip on the Emek more. I do like the 170R's foregrip better though.

That's a bit of a stretch I think. Even though I haven't bought any of the stuff for mine I think the aftermarket triggers, 3-ways, and back caps are great. Back in the day that's the sort of stuff we'd all buy to upgrade our guns. I don't really remember aftermarket bodies unless it was a Shocktech or whoever building a complete custom gun. Now if you're talking about Inception building a private label emek then that's interesting but I'm not sure a custom shop entry level gun is really a viable thing. Nobody that I can remember was building high end custom Model 98 tippmans.
