Talked with Simon over the weekend as he is a great resource for ideas. I think we have come up with a much more streamlined process for the pump event and how to get included in the Inception Designs raffle.

Sounds good. We had brought a canopy last year, but it didn't stand up to that torrential downpour. Let's hope the weather cooperates!

Not thrilled about going back to legacy. I recall several times on Sat walking the entire front line from waters edge to the camping cliffs and finding a solid civil war style of players just slinging paint. It was boring as there was no Opportunity for tactical movements or flanking. The best Gameplay my friends and I had was when most players left the field during the torrential down pour because we got into some small skirmishes where “shoot and move” was key. I loved Hells Survivors when legends was in Michigan for that reason but I understand people prefer Chicago. If there was some way to alleviate the front line from getting so stagnant it would be great. Sounds like it got better on Sunday but I can’t help but wonder if that was because a bunch of people left due to the weather. I want to highlight that this is one of the toughest problems for staff I’m sure and there are a ton of variables, some of which Honu mentioned earlier.
Overall, Honu and Legends has been a pinnacle of paintball within the industry and we’re going to give Legacy another try and hopefully have improved weather! Bringing a trailer this year!

For real I appreciate the feedback. We are working on ways to help the battleline flex much, much more. Even at Old CPX there was a solid battle line but the flexing back and forth allowed the sides to make moves needed to get points towards the win. Hopefully, you all will like the improvements this coming year.

Some really great feedback in here. One thing that does kind of jump into my mind, reading through, it'd be a good plan to have a program of being able to pull off the approach road that ran behind the big-booth vendors back toward parking/camping, and letting folks unload gear in the staging areas. Having to hump gearbags from parking is messy, especially on a fully loaded up tram. I'm no stranger to "bus carry position" for gear, and (sorry to any sensitive folks here) sitting "nuts to butts" to get as many on a conveyance as possible, but it's sure not fun.
And maybe... maybe maybe maybe... some sort of chronograph zone relatively close to staging? Gearing up and humping out to a start point only to find you can't get a marker above 220 kinda sucks.

Awesome. The pump event was always one of my favorite parts of Living Legends.
Looking forward to it making a comeback.

I sent you on facebook a graphic. ( please add it to this post cause I have never figured out how to do that here) that we released before the event that shows the 3 different gear drop off points that you were allowed to stop on your way in and drop gear for staging. Pull in, drop gear, go park, take the tram back and set up your main area staging. Easy, LOL. I'll make sure we make it even more clear when we put the info out again this year.
The same graphic shows the main Chrono area that was open all day on Friday for unofficial marker adjustments. It was open both Sat and Sun from 7am to until game on. This means you had at least 8 hours Friday and 4 hours on Saturday morning to check your marker/s. In addition to all of that there were multiple chrono refs at each of the starting points starting at 30 mins before game on until at least 30 mins after game on. You know me dude, I'm up for any advice from players on how we can do it better, I'm just not sure what more we can do on the chrono thing though. Happy to hear any input anyone has on how we can do better.

Awesome! I likely missed those bits of info... we'd all gotten pretty good at the CPX location, just a few teething things with a first year at a new venue.

For sure my dude. We same way. It was our first year at the new home and we still getting settled in ourselves. The owners have been great and we have a bunch of things we are working on to make sure we keep the event at the level the players expect and deserve.

The chrono situation wasn't really any different than the old CPX set up. Legacy has the advantage in that the chrono area isn't a part of the main field but I can see how staffing could be an issue.

When registering and choosing number of cases of paint, I want 9 for my party but it goes from 8 straight to 10 and on the 10 it says 10 + 5 Free. That seems to me to mean buy 10 get 5 free, which I highly doubt is the case. Anyone have an idea?

You are welcome. It was a very popular promo last year so we kept it for 2020.

They are working on it right now. It is always going to be a thing because they don't own that land and I have to rent it from there neighbor. Guy is cool but kind of slow on come back with answers, LOL.

No worries! We're still a ways off from the event anyway. Thinking about a better tent this year, too.

Paintball News Rules |
- No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
- Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
- If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
- Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
