If I had the $ I'd be preordering a New Roadster right about now... 1.9 to 100kph, 1000k range. Can't get over those numbers, I don't even care if it can't corner.

Crazy numbers on the roadster.
BASE Model:
0-60 1.9
0-100 4.2 (same as Model S 0-60)
620 mile range at highway speed
Unbelievable if you ask me...
The Semi is insane as well.... 800 Mile Range with 400 miles of charging in 30 Minutes? That is crazy...and the chargers will be solar powered....
500 mile range @ max load - WORST Case scenario...
0-60 5.0 seconds no load...
-----------------------------------
also the Model 3E is 0-60 in 4.8 vs the 5.1 advertised as well...
I can't wait for my configure email....

Doesn't surprise me. I worked at Tesla for a few months helping support them with tests. They can have very, very high expectations on an unrealistic timeline. That tends to create setbacks.

Could that be one of the reasons they seem to burn out employees? I feel like if you move in certain circles everybody knows someone who worked for one of Elon Musk's companies and moved on as quickly as possible.

I still have mine on reserve... May-July but I haven't been invited to start designing it yet, so I assume I'll be more on the July timeline.
Unsure if I want to keep the reservation either. It seems like a smart option, especially for an electric vehicle, but I recently changed jobs in which my commute is at just under 3 miles, one way. If I buy it, I wouldn't even drive it, my wife would.
I'd be going for the premium package stuff too, so base is around 45k. Hoping to hit those federal rebates.

Flat grey was NOT an option unfortunately I will be doing it as a wrap come the spring.
I ended up buying the Long Range Premium Performance which was over double the price.
310 mile range
0-60 in 3.25
leather
glass roof
premium sound
autopilot

Tell us about your car, do you love it ?
Any issues ?
Is charging as much of a royal pain as everyone says ?
Is tesla service as bad as everyone says ?
And also, are you buying the cybertruck ?

Can you say origami truck ?
It'll pull a ginormous load for about 15 minutes before in needs charged for 3 hours.
Fixing it after an accident is not going to be an option....
True the cool factor is high, but the real world practicality factor is below zero.

Looks are subjective, so whatever.
Probably will charge in closer to 15 minutes with the superchargers that'll be out by then. 3 hours only if you can't make it to one and have to use something crappy.
Repairs - dunno, probably fair, but the biggest issue will be the range penalty of towing.
I can see tradesfolk here in NZ cities using it, since gas here is in the $8 a gallon range while power works out to about a $1 per gallon equivalent. Tradies here mostly just tool around the suburbs, don't tow, and don't go far at a stretch. Nobody in NZ uses a truck to tow anyway. That's what SUVs are for.
But $40k USD becomes $80k NZD (exchange, 15% GST, duty, shipping), when they could get a Ranger for $30k NZD. The cybertruck wont be competitive here in that market until the price drops to $20k USD. The model 3 competes here with mid to high end Audis, not Toyotas.
I still want one. I'll never tow, I need 6 seats, gas prices here are awful, I need tons of storage, there's superchargers everywhere, and I'm batman.

Just found this thread:
2018 LR RWD Model 3, reserved on Day 1, picked up September of 2018:
Love the car, autopilot is the jam and driving is for plebs. We've had the mobile service rangers fix a few odds and ends under warranty and they come to you, wherever is convenient.
We had one repair for the MCU that required a trip down to Dallas and they had the car for a day. Easy in, easy out. We're waiting on our service center to be built here in OKC.
Charging is a non-issue. Plug in at night, wake up with a full "tank". We did a long weekend to Santa Fe, a roughly 1,000 mile drive. Charging stops added maybe 35 minutes each way, over what is already a strong 8 hour drive. Cost would have been $40 if we didn't have free supercharging.
If you're not one of those outliers that drives an absurd amount every day and have the ability to charge at home; 99% of the issues people that don't own one and have never driven one complain about are non-factors.
We got invited to the CyberTruck event, and since I'm looking to get rid of my 2001 XJ I put down the $100 just to see. I can't build a comparatively trimmed regular truck for what I'd get in the mid-trimmed CyberTruck.
Also happy to answer any/all questions about the CyberTruck or Tesla ownership in general.

What are your driving habits, gh?
Me I commute like 10 minutes to work at a desk, and probably do two 500km each way trips in a year. I never tow. I don't need masses of cargo space. There are superchargers everywhere here, so any Tesla would easily cover me. The only real issue is that I need 6+ seats, meaning I'll be waiting for a Y. I don't trust the complex mechanicals of the X. A cybertruck would just be way too big.
Reliablity is big. My nearest service center is 500km away. Being an EV, a Tesla should in theory be just as reliable as any Toyota. Alas, Toyota still have quality control on absolute lockdown and nobody on the planet can match them. My last Corolla never needed anything done, ever, for a decade - besides standard stuff like tyres and oil etc.. Proves it's possible and makes me annoyed at Tesla for being slack. I could be a gajillionaire and I'd probably still buy Toyota/Lexus because they're just that good.
So OCJuice the very fact there are odds and ends to fix on a car that new is concerning. I don't think I could justify a purchase until there's local service for that reason. American car brands have a reputation for falling apart and having awful quality control, or just being outright badly engineered. Unfortunately Tesla don't seem to be bucking that trend.

Meguair's quick wax. I have a foam cannon for my power washer so I can foam up with soap and wash. Quick wax works great for a finishing coat.
My wife loves the Model 3, and it makes longer road trips so much nicer with AP. 1,000 mile round trip, didn't physically drive for most of it.

I am an outside sales rep, customer service.
Today I drove about 250 miles.
Mostly anywhere from 3 to 500 a week.
I took a couple front doors to different jobs today.
Next week it might be a bundle of 16' crown molding to a job.
I try not to make it a habit of delivering stuff but there are always lots of fires to put out for my customers.
I have several 5.7 Hemi Ram trucks, they are very useful.
So you can maybe see why an EV is not a good fit for me.
Trucks are useful and theres a gas station on just about every corner.
