Traded my goldwing for this bad larry. 99 DR650. Gonna do a small winter build while I go through the important systems and address some known issues it has. Hopefully the icing on the cake will be a Warp 9 sumo set up. Supposedly they are dead nuts reliable. Gonna keep this as my hooligan bike and my Triumph for track duty and 2 up.

Probably going to strip everything off that I can. Powder coat some bits where necessary. I'm not into the whole milk crate utilitarian thing. If I can't fit it in a backpack I just take my car.

that lowrider s is a good looking bike, but like most new harleys, it's way overpriced.

Man that DR is way more fun that I ever expected it to be. Has enough get up and go to make passes when needed. I was gung ho about a supermoto set up until I hit up some power line trails and dirt roads tonight while cruising around. Never had a bike capable of doing that (reasonably) with. The dual sport thing looks like it has the potential to be a lot of fun.

Hey how can I do rear axle sliders a DRZ, the swing arm appears to be alloy. I can't slam the nut home with an air gun can I? Just torque each side individually by hand?

With few exceptions, dont use an airgun on your bike.

Rip... could I take these sliders and just remove the axle not on one side. Mount the slider up and then torque the axle nut back down. If the other side is still tight will it move at all?

...what? I'm confused, you only want your a slider on one side?

Do you not have a rear stand yet?

Nope, my garage is jammed with car stuff so im debating on whether I should get a center stand or a motorcycle center lift. A milk crate or bucket might do the trick to get the rear wheel off the ground.

Maybe im over thinking it. I never work on bikes and im scared im going to misalign the wheel. I'm not even sure how its set up. Whatever we'll figure it out and take it slow for awhile.

Get a 25$ rear stand from harbor freight. I've been using one for 3 years. I'm also confused as hell about what you are trying to accomplish.

Are their any center lift stands out there sort of like this one below that are hydraulic with a foot pump that can rest on a locks the way a car lift does.
