Our Focus

The NSL’s primary focus is reinvesting in both the member players, teams and Speedball fields that make up the league.

Members of the NSL are viewed as our most valued resource, rather than just customers. Even members at the local beginner level have an equal opportunity to be accepted into the Speedball community, earn national recognition, and become successful ball players representative of their state.

Players that have experienced our Live-Flag format have stated that this format is an athletically demanding, fast paced, fair, fun and challenging Speedball game.

Paintball players are able to walk up to nearly any game and immediately understand what is happening on the field, foresee potential moves and follow the action. However, this is not the case for a non-paintball player. So, the NSL created a game format that brings a central focus to the game. Now, a non-participant audience may easily understand the game, what is happening on the field with a flag carrying offense attempting to score and a defense dedicated to stopping the flag carrier.

Fans are able to enjoy a sporting event similar to more traditional sports; games of such intensity that there is no time for distractions. Speedball fans will derive excitement and a sense of community from rooting for their team while being able to follow the game; even if they have never played.

All paintball games require skill to play, additionally the NSL format requires increased Strategy, Opposition Strategy, Pit Planning & Execution, and Individual Match-ups, thus challenging coaches to ensure their team is ready for game day.

The NSL derives its strength from the overwhelming player base that supports this sport and reinvests in this player base by ensuring that local teams playing at local fields have the opportunity to earn recognition by competing at the Regional Finals, State, Conference Finals, and potentially the NSL Championship.

Since inception in 2009 and release in 2012, the players have driven the development of our game and formation of our league. Participants or not, the NSL takes every comment into careful consideration, ensuring that ideas and suggestions are tried & tested and if beneficial to the players, the game, and the sport, that they become policy. The league will not stop pushing toward national recognition for player accomplishments and team recognition.
