9v battery Mod

Whats involved in converting my VS2 board that uses a 9.6 v rechargeable to a standard 9v like Duracell or Energizer battery. Ive seen some sold on I&I sports that states they have the 9v mod. Just wondering what exactly needs to be done. Thanks.

There was a 9v conversion for the older angels but nothing that I know about for the spyders. You should be able to simply ise a new name brand 9v

You'll run into ROF issues. Even "good" alkeline batteries have a rather high internal resistance, and you can get issues with that. a NiMh 9.6v rechargable is the way to go.

If you throw in a "good" alkeline battery, it will work. But keep in mind, that kingman built to the bottom dollar. There's a really good reason they included the NiMh pack.

Okay called I&I sports. tech mentioned the conversion involves grinding down solenoid pin.

Isn't this effectively the same thing as using a penny to shorten clapper stroke length? Only thing I can think of is less mass involved when energizing the solenoid.
