After one final, short delay of 48 hours, the shipping container with all 2,000 books arrived at a Chicagoland train yard on May 26. We contracted a trucking company to get the books across the final leg, to the small office where we'll be packing and shipping orders. The office is all cleaned up and ready to go, with stacks of empty boxes just waiting for the books to arrive.

But a few days after the books were scheduled to be dropped off, we were told there was a huge backlog of shipping containers at the train yard, and the trucking company would have to wait to take possession of the books. So we waited. And waited. And then waited some more. In fact, we're still waiting.

We've been in daily contact with the shipping company for the past three weeks now. This sort of delay is definitely not normal, but the reality is that there are backlogs like this all across the U.S. (and the world) right now.

After being delayed by the worldwide shutdown a year ago, we're now stuck waiting because of the worldwide reopening.

It sucks. More than anything, we want to be able to share this book with everyone who has supported it, and has been waiting patiently for it.

As soon as the train yard releases the books, it will be all hands on deck to get them packed and shipped out as quickly as possible.

But for now, we're still waiting. We'll let you know as soon as we hear more.

At this point, I’m not even surprised. The lack of communication is laughable. If items were scheduled to ship by June 1st, why would you wait three weeks to let people know there are ongoing delays?

Just another example of P8nt being P8nt. I’m still waiting on a couple issues from 2003.

is it possible to back out of the pledge at this point or has that ship sailed? i think this last update was the final straw for me. 3 weeks without an update, only to say "sorry, theres another delay btw" is ridiculous.

I'm still totally fine waiting, that's part of what you sign up for with Kickstarter, plus all the extra shenanigans the pandemic has added.

Same here. Would have been cool to have it a year ago as initially promised but as long as I get it delivered in 2021 I'm good.

Working within supply chain this isn't really a shock to me.. The railyards in Chicago are a complete nightmare to work through right now. Goods my company were expecting for launch were at the bottom of the container pile and had no idea when they could be moved.

The contacts at the port don't have great intel either because the backlog is huge.

Every consumer and every company want their goods NOW. If everything is a priority, nothings a priority..

I think people would be shocked at how often containers fall off those ships.

Dealing with that as we speak. Cast iron shipment coming from India had a few containers get "lost"

i actually watched some documentary on sea cans and they account for an acceptable loss of like 2% of the sea cans per vessel.

so 40000teu ship can loose like 400 cans in a storm. its crazy to think about how many sea cans are down there.

Books don't like to be in a hot and humid container for very long. I would suspect some damage is occurring to them already

But of course i have no idea how they have been packaged from South Korea.

Fingers crossed ya'll at least retrieve them from the container soon.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
