Living Legends moves to Hells Survivors for 2018

Quote:
CPX to move Living Legends 11 - Inferno, to the legendary Hell Survivors in Pinckney, MI on May 18th-20th of 2018.

The reason behind the move is the imminent construction of a bridge that will span the Des Plains River and connect Houbolt Rd to an extended Vetter Rd. The project, which is slated to begin in the Spring, will have a construction footprint that includes the eastern most border of CPX Sports - parts of which are close to Living Legends camping, staging, fields of play, and insertion points. In the interests of safety and liability, we’ve made the decision to move the event to an incredible, iconic Midwest paintball park while construction is underway.

The world-famous Hell Survivors is a 180-acre complex, conveniently located less than 45-minutes from Detroit Metro Airport, that has a 35-year history of hosting some of Paintball’s most notable large events - Michigan Monster Game and World Challenge. The neighboring cities of Brighton and Howell have all the amenities you’re used to and have come to expect - including plenty of hotels, restaurants, and bars.

It is our sincere hope that you join us as we take Living Legends on the road and bring it to one of Paintball’s most celebrated and historic big game fields.
CPX says that the event will return in 2019, when the construction is complete. We can all "ooh", and "ahh" at the new bridge.

Edit - Sadly, CPX will not be reopening. Details here: https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...&highlight=cpx

I'm sure a lot of you have heard the rumors about CPX being under Eminent Domain. It does appear that this new road may take a bit of the field away on the Eastern side, and maybe some of the camping, but for the most part it seems It'll not affect most things.

But now we all get to visit Hells Survivors for the year!

I've never been to Hell Survivors for a big game, so I am interested to see how they handle my favorite scenario event of the year.

I wonder if Massey will charge for camping? Evil paint or the Red Inferno?
Hell Survivors has some decent fields. This should be a good game.

Evil paint. CPX is in charge of paint and it will be the same as last year with 3 grades.

wher are they going to park everybody? Should be a good event, the field plays nice and with the doughnut shape of the field you will at least get to see it all.

If they couldn't host it at CPX at least the found another great field to use. My first Big Game was at Hell Survivor's and I have so many good memories there. It should be a hell of a game. One piece of advice: keep your eye on the swamp or some rotten swamp running bastard will shoot you in the <del>***</del>!

Will there still be camping? I was really banking on making this my first big game on my bday, but CPX allowed camping.

No way. It pushes it to far away for me. I guess it will be the first I miss in 7 years.

Cool, a break from the usual field bottlenecks. To me that's a relief.

I think I played there once and do recall the swamp and the odd soul who would venture in. Maybe I should go buy hip waders

This is exciting. Something new. I've played one big game there (the last tippmann world challenge) and it was a lot of fun. There were some good fields.

There were some serious paint issues that day though. I hope that was a fluke

Hell's Survivor's is a great field with some really nice campsites. Will this be a red paint event?

It will be the same paint that Living Legends always offers.

Interesting... I have family about 15 minutes from there. It's also several hours closer. I already signed up for Bones and Ashes, but I might have to do this one too

Great choice for an alternate location! I've played many events at Hell Survivors over the years. I think the layout of the field will lend itself well to the Legends format.

Well, I get the decision, but that really sucks.

Detroit Metro (DTW) is the largest in the area.

There are a couple other smaller airports like Bishop International (FNT) and Capital Region International (LAN)

All three are about an hour from the field but I think DTW is the closest (and has the most flight options)
