What I can tell you is that diodes (which make up transistors and logic gates) get really ****y when your
Vin doesnt allow for the forward voltage drop because that trace is seeing another drop due to poor admittance on the contact/lead.
the only way youre gonna troubleshoot a board is with a scope, or a meter and datasheet.
