Forgot your part about pblegion. Doesn’t sound like any of it was backed up in one place as from the very little I found trying to see where the history was, Bones mentioned having to find old computers.
the anno/plating on the flames resulted in a lot of pitting and flaking at the transitions.. that one probably wasnt re-annodized for funsies

It was in mint condition, just a boring colour to most and an anodizer hopped up on the fumes. The result wasn't pretty. It's in the photo on the previous page.

Finally got a chance to air up the most recent matrixes I bought and one is gushing from air up and the second popped (sounded like the bolt) and then leak. Sad face.

Going to rebuild the entire bolt kit as soon as my new oring kit comes with the large 23 rings so I can do it all in one swoop.

If it’s leaking out the centre of the bolt face, it’s the #13 on the inside of the top hat. Most common leak on a matrix next to the tail oring causing a leak out the back cap

How much weight savings is there doing the "UL" milling of a matrix.. shaving off the dead air chamber. Worth it?

Grey one from Sweden? If so I hate to tell you but it’s one of the knock offs.

No it was here on PBN. GREAT to know about that one thought because I was digging the look of it. How can you tell which ones are fake?

Usually by looking at the eye carrier when you take the breech off. About the only way.

I had people *****ing at me years ago about mine being a knockoff. Too bad I knew it was a real one since I bought it directly from Micah mcglocklin when he left the ironmen.
Same thing happened years later when I was selling it for a friend. Everyone wanted pics of the eye carrier.

The frame is a tell tail too.. Ironmans had a shortened frame. So the holes in the body don’t line up the same,

there was something involving an o-ring and the threaded breech rod to keep it from falling out the back as well,

i think the eye carrier was involved with that as well

ive never had the pleasure of taking one apart.. so im just going by what ive heard

What’s different about the eye carrier on the IM?

The eye carrier on a legit Ironmen wasn't just the little U shaped unit. It dipped further into the body and was threaded. The rod itself had a special part that was threaded, then not threaded. Because it engaged the threading on the eye carrier, if you took the breech off it prevented the rod from just falling out the back.
