-New to mag-fed, any DIY mag coupler ideas/tips on playing?

I was looking around and cant find any DIY mag mods. At $8 a pop for a coupler or more, I figure some tape and a piece of wood in-between mags might not be a bad idea. I recently bought a Tippmann TMC and came across the issue of taking too long to reload while trying to keep people pinned down. Having another mag attached to the one in the gun ready to go seems like it would come in handy. The problem I see with them being coupled seems to be restricting access to the winder on the side of the magazine. I figure a fast mag setup would help with keeping players pinned down should the opposing player have an electric marker. The field I have been playing at (Power paintball Lombard) has a majority mix of rentals and mag fed players. I used my podpack bottom side up on my chest as a makeshift vest, which in turn worked better than my winter coat jacket pockets. I had 4 mags, now 3 as I lost one on the field and someone picked it up. ordered 4 more mags as 3 can be blown quickly in a firefight. Reloading the mags seems to take some effort and was thinking 10 round pump tubes might be a quick way to feed balls into empty mags in-between rounds vs grabbing a handful of paintballs from a pod and loading by hand.
Any tips/tricks for any aspect of playing mag-fed will help
