I think it was 1988, my best friend at the time asked me to play some indoor paintball with him using Tracers. We got hooked and he eventually asked me to join a 5 man team that he and some other guys were forming and I got myself an auto cocker to be able to compete. Unfortunately i ended up moving a few years later and he continued to play. I think some of you might know him, Billy Ceranski. Our 5 man team was called Kwikk Maxx, I did play in a few tournaments with them and we would practice against some of the guys from the Iron men, Tour de Force and the old Black Sunday guys. Those were some fun times.

Haha, that's pretty cool. Billy was pretty good at this game.

My first game was in 1990 whilst visiting friends in Ontario. They had a bunch of those old school metal Brass Eagle pump guns. We used ski googles (I know... I know...) and had a handful of paintballs each.

Fast forward to 1992 when I played a few games as a rental. We used Tippmann SL-68 IIs. Got hooked and wanted a VM-68 because they looked kewl. The field owner actually discouraged me from buying that (can't remember what his argument was) and got instead a Tippmann Pro-Am. The field owner didn't believe in chronies (I kid you not... well, he's been out of business for about 20 years now) so I never knew at which velocity I was shooting at.

Then I started spending a pretty penny for whatever was considered a high end at the time. My first one was a B&M Mini-cocker, then an Automag with the SP Magic box (the only 'magical' thing about it was to empty my wallet even faster). Then on to the Angel, the Shoebox Shocker, etc. Took a break from 2002 to 2007, then came back and stuck strictly to recballing and thus I got a Tippmann X-7. After one game, got back into electros. Since then, I had a whole bunch of PE guns (Ego 11, Geo 3/3.1/3.5, etc.).

Now, I kind of went back full circle as I use my Emek as my main marker, often only with the PAL loader as sort of an handicap.

I began playing in 1995 with rental equipment. I then purchased a Brass Eagle Raptor. I was quick to order all the Smart Parts goodies I could for it.

Started with a short-barrel Stingray. That thing was a workhorse and it took a never ending beating. When I moved onto a Tippmann Carbine and later a Mini Mag, the Stingray was always around for friends to use. I think I eventually sold it, but for all I know it could be sitting out in the back of my neighbor's old and over grown field. Wonderful memories I will cherish forever. I can still hear that "ping" sound it would make, especially when shooting Marballizer paint.

A Nelspot 007 , then the FIRST PGPs made, that were bolt action, no pump yet. It was 1982 or 83. It had just come out and was way better then the Nelspot 007 .

They had the bolt in the rear which was knurled on the end so you could grab it, twist it and reload.

After that a Brass Eagle Nightmare, followed by one of Bud Orrs first Commando prototypes.

Our team then ordered the Line SI Bushmasters from Ross Alexander when they first came out and we started tearing it up on the National Tournament circle.

I also shot a Bud Orr Pump gun for years in Tournaments and my wife a VM 68, one of the Smart Part one with the Smart Parts barrel, until we got sponsored by Tom Kaye and Airgun Designs and started shooting Automags.

My wife and I even got two new Automags for our wedding present. For electros we shot the SP Shockers, than The WGP Black Magics and Karnivors later on from 2005 to 2008

I played in the early 90's, but it was always a once a year thing my parents would let me do while we were on vacation. I have no idea what the guns were but they were usually small brassed out pump pistols that held 10 rounds in the tube. Most likely PGP?
In the later half of the 90's I had a job pumping gas while still in High School which meant disposable income! The first gun I bought for myself was one of the original Spyders. I had no idea what any of the guns were when I walked into the store but this was the cheapist and on sale! The salesman told me "Don't worry you can upgrade it to be even better then the expensive guns".
...I ended up upgrading every little piece of that gun over the upcoming years. From a gas through grip to a venturi bolt. Heck even a custom trigger. I think it went from 5bps to 8 or 9bps. But it just still wasn't quite as good as the expensive guns.
Well one day I traded it in on a Autococker and never looked back

Started in 1999.

First marker I used was a rental PMI Piranha.

A buddy gave me some Spyder clone called a Terminator later that year. Traded that and cash for a NIB Spyder Shutter.

First marker I bought myself was a Spyder Flash.

My first “paintball gun” was one of those Gotcha Guns with the disk that had the ink in it. When you shot it would pop the ink bubble and shoot the ink at you

Started playing paintball in 1987 and my first actual paintball marker was a Nelspot 007 than a Daisy Sheridan PGP with everything brass (lol)

Then worked my way through so many markers.

I played like 2-3 games with a spyder compact my uncle had bought in the mid 90’s. I played one game against my cousin (for whom he had bought the guns for himself and his son to play) and even though he cheated and hid in the barn before the start was called I lit him up and he never played again, so I bought it for cheap. Anyway soon I had to have better. I ended up working at the local field to pay for my habit. I could never shoot an autococker without shortstroking, or make one work again after taking it apart for that matter, so I went from automag to angel with a shocker turbo on the side. I loved that angel, sold it to buy my first car… poor decision in hindsight.

My local indoor field rented Tippmann SL-68 pumps and my local store rented Sheridan PGPs. Not sure which one I used first but it was one of those two.

The first time I ever "played" paintball I was too young to be given a marker, but they let me put on a mask and go out on the field and hang out and get shot at inside a defensive position called the castle. I think this was in 1995 or 96. I think the first marker I shot was a Stingray 1 my dad got from walmart.
