Tribal fluster

Hi there my friend just picked up a tribal marker. It's really really nice and I believe pretty upgraded. Beautiful gun. Has the 90 grip frame with double trigger. Upgraded eyes, upgraded lpr. And I'm sure plenty of other goodies. We had it out today. It runs good and shoots great but on a few occations its like the thing blew the ball up in the breech and sent paint up into the loader. It actually happened twice. I am unfamiliar with the marker and don't know if it's running at too high a pressure or what. Any advice on tuning these or ideas on what would cause this would be great.

Did you chrono the marker at a field/shop? That would easily tell you if your pressures are too high in some aspect.. also were you shooting good paint?

What hopper are you using? Could be double feeding past a week ball detent.

We didn't chrono it at the field. I don't think it was to high. The paint isn't the best of the best but we didn't have any issues of breaking in my vibe, my ego, my friends g5 or his spyder. It may be feeding double balls in. Using the empire b loader. But also the view loader revolution 2000 or whatever those original electric hoppers are. This marker has double detents. Actually a nice nice touch. I was wondering possibly trying to turn the lpr down a bit, wouldn't this lower the operating pressure. Just a thought

Turning down the lpr will lower the operating pressure, but it honestly isn't a good idea.. tribals were made to operate at set pressures. Adjusting the lpr will also adjust the velocity

Throw the revy on it and see if it double feeds then to
Rule out bad detents

Detents are fine. I just checked them aND cleaned them last night. Bolt has to physically push the ball past the detent.

So I was just messing with this marker. Seems to be pushing a bunch of air up the feed neck every time it fires. I have not a clue why

Open bolt markers by design start to release air before the breach is fully closed, this causes some air to go up the feedneck.

As for your breaking paint issues, things to check before you start changing reg pressures.

Paint, make sure it's decent, not super brittle, decently round and fits the barrel
Battery, tribals were designed to use recharagable 9.6 batteries, regular 9volt off the shelf batteries will generally throw the low battery voltage warning light. Power Rex used to make a replaceable 9.6, not 100% sure if they are still avalible

Chrono, really need to check it, eye balling it and saying that looks right doesn't work when your trying to diagnose problems. Could be as easy as it's shooting 375fps and the paint can't handle that.

Where are you located? Maybe by chance you are near one of the tribals gurus from the past and they can help you out in person..

I have been searching the net to add to my Tribal collection. I would be interested in getting a Fluster or 2 and hopefully finding my old Addicted I let go a few years back.

Tried emailing you, but your email in pbn is broken apparently. Don't want to post someone else's email to a public forum
