I know more about paintball than any sane person should. However, I still learned a ridiculous amount about the start of paintball from this film. Honestly, more than I can believe. This was clearly a labor of love for John Amodea and no one will watch this already knowing the whole story.

I'm amazed at how much Adam Gardner looks like Mike Pence. Take that for what you will.

As I get older I appreciate how much love really goes into this sport. There's almost no money and a lot of the guys running the industry could easily translate their efforts and skills to more lucrative industries.

This is probably one of the best things I've paid to watch in a VERY long time. The only thing I hated is that 1) it was over and 2) that there was still probably more they could have gone into, more they could have talked about. It was incredibly well done from top to bottom; the right mix of nostalgia, historical information, and just awesome interviews and discussion from the people who lived it and personify paintball. Kudos.
Now I have to watch it again because I'm sure I missed something...or many things.

This was awesome! I learned a ton as well. John did a fantastic job with this. Hopefully he turns this into a series and releases the whole interviews for each person.

I, as a diehard player, really enjoyed this. I thought it had great history and content and I learned a ton of things I didnt know and I appreciate all the hard work put into it. However, I am having trouble seeing how this is appealing to non-players, it was pretty dry and didn't do much to create excitement about playing or trying the sport. I think this would have benefitted as a multi episode series to make the timeline more cohesive. It jumped around from time periods so much.
40-50 years is just too much history for a single video. And what was the weird hate towards outside investors at the end?

Not watching this crap. If it doesn't have bud orr in it and the SP debacle, which changed the industry, i'm not watching it.

So is it just interviews with big names from the industry over the years? Just curious what format is like before I shell out for it

Just finished it. If we weren't in lock down I'd say its not worth watching past the first 45 minutes.
Starts off with the history behind the first game ever played, interviews with the guys who first had the idea. Followed the opening of the first fields. This part was really cool.
Delves into tournament play and marker technology. Hops around time lines quite a bit and gets disjointed.
About halfway through it falls off the rails. Turns into ICC hotel room interviews, clips lifted off youtube with him voicing over them, bounces back around to very old tech again, then shoots forward into early 2ks ball psp / nppl split.
Last third was just promotional material for the manufacturers. With some live interviews, some interviews lifted from stuff you've already seen on pbnation.
It was pretty lazy.

It's a documentary about the game... from before the first game ever played in 1981 to current times. Tons of footage from the 80s, 90s, early 2000s, interviews with players, industry...

Totally entitled to your opinion... but "stuff you've seen on PbNation" is just false.... maybe a few minutes in the 3 HOURS...
