^ Truth. $64.95 is high for a loader system that isn't all that light and only feeds around 10 bps.

I disagree. If this loader has the longevity and consistency of an old style revy, with more consistent feed rates, and a more durable shell, it is quite a good deal. What else competes with it in this price? The Z2 is around that area but they literally split apart at random.

Fact is that the vast majority of mech players will never need a higher feed rate than this, and all tournament players will not either. Why put extra weight or RD into getting it to feed 20bps when it isnt required by the majority of people? HK does that with the Pinokio loaders and I hardly see anyone using them.

You're forgetting why this is being branded under Protoyz and not Planet Eclipse. Rock solid shell, bomb proof feeding, easy maintenance, super long lasting batteries.

Those are features a lot of fields might appreciate over what you and I may look for in our aftermarket hoppers.

Shrink the shell 50% and make a 70-100 ball version.

I mean the Speed definitely comes to mind. It's quite a bit lighter with higher feed performance for $15 more. This might be a tad tougher, but they are also very tough/reliable loaders. For $20-25 more you also get into Rotor LTR and LVL territory.

I think the rental argument is a good one if these are substantially tougher than competitors around that price point.

The speed is an awful design though. The shell is super weak, it holds 30-35 less balls, and is very front heavy/front leaning. Is feed rate really a thing anymore? As long as it feeds 10-11 consistently. I guess the exception is those guys that like to go, "I can totally shoot my emek/cvo 14bps"

You mean balanced on the feedneck? The speedster is too.

I like both. The fact the speedster doesn't rely on a goofy tongue sensor like the Speed does makes it the better hopper in my mind.

Back 12 years ago (!) I ran the Ricochet Apache hopper with the 'tongue' system and at 10bps with my SP SP-1 on full-auto (yeah I know...) I never had any issues.

I think that the HK Speed is a nice offering for someone who wants a decent loader with no need to feed at an insane rate (what's the point anyway? This is not 2005), without having to spend a huge amount of $$.

Therefore, I think that the Speedster will hit a very nice spot in the market for the same target market as described above. I think that $65 for a sturdy and reliable loader that can feed consistently at 10bps is quite reasonable. It will afford another nice option amongst the lower-priced tier, along with the aforementioned Speed and the LTR.

Personally, I was looking for a loaner loader to keep around in my gear bag and this will fit the bill perfectly.

This would have been great at the $45-50 price point, but at $65 that's just a tad bit too high for my tastes for a non-force loader. All it has over a tried and true revy is tool-less disassembly. whoop-tie do.

Have you purchased a new revolution recently? I did, and it broke with in 2 days of use.

I'll be happy to pay $65 for a PE product which will, more than likely, last for a very long time.

An awful design? Have you used one. I ran the standard Pinokios for years. Only downside to them was that the motor was a bit on the loud side. I found the bend sensor and loading system to be incredibly reliable. I havenít beat up a Speed (donít even own one), but the shell seems very sturdy whenever I have handled the loaders.

I agree you don't need a ton of feeding capability but when you get up in that price point, its a nice to have. I still play a decent amount of uncapped semi and even a rotor against say my Spire 3 is a noticeable difference. Not against anyone buying one but for me it doesnít really fit a need.

For the price you could get a used rotor or spire, I dont see a reason to recommend this to a new player over a used force fed hopper.

Found a video of it. Interesting, but I really don't see the need for another Spyder clone / blowback in 2020.
