all the parts inception designs makes are made in the USA. they do sell some empire parts that are made over seas. but im sure Simon will pop in sometime to verify his parts are from the USA

It depends on what it is. It's simply not proven possible to make every single thing in the USA and be competitive let alone support dealers and fields so that they can support us.

We try very hard to do as much as can in house, locally, or in the USA but sometimes it hasn't been possible.

We machine our custom gun bodies in house along with our grip frames, camera mounts and other parts where we have capacity. We outsource to local machine shops where we can and we also buy components and parts from other companies in the industry and around the world.

The WGP bodies we have came from California. We bought blank Axe and Sniper/Resurrection bodies from Empire that were made in Taiwan (but then custom machined them ourselves in the USA). The pneumatics components that were developed while I was at KEE/Empire are also from Taiwan/China.

We tried desperately to make some parts in the USA (like rubber grips) and after 6 months of obscene tooling quotes or not even getting replies, we went with a molder in Taiwan who has been making rubber grips and supporting the paintball industry for 20+ years.

We will be building our full guns here in NJ.

We make all of our stickers and banners in the USA via www.187pb.com (another PBN moderator owned company). All of our clamshell packaging comes from the USA www.stockclam.com (they rock). All of our insert cards and packaging are printed locally.

Our gun, barrel and reg cases were designed in the USA by us or in Canada by Exalt. They are made in China via Exalt.

Our t-shirts, are made in Nicaragua and Haiti, our hats and polo shirts are made in Vietnam, our hoodies in Honduras and jackets in Bangladesh but all are either embroidered or screen printed by a local company that we have become great partners with and that we recommend to other people we know.

In this day and age it's almost impossible not to have some parts or products from overseas.

One of the reasons I wanted to do this interview is just how passionate Simon is about what he makes. He's from the UK but he loves his home here in the United States and goes way above and beyond to make parts here.

I love detailed answers like this.

Excellent read!

I ran into Simon at LL6 and then randomly at Hardcore Paintball in NJ a while back. It's been years, but seeing inception grow has been so awesome to see. Wishing you the best of luck!

After swooning over Simon's Autococker bodies, I met him for the first time at an EMR big game. Ended up with one of his Ripper body's and built my first Autococker. You can tell Simon truly cares about his products and the industry. I'm really excited for what is to come of Inception, and all the new products look Amazing! Looking forward to supporting Inception Designe and the big guy behind it.

I believe the first time I met Simon was at a Modsquad BFE in 2007 I think. I was instantly impressed by not only his knowledge of equipment, but his knowledge of the sport as a whole. Very personable fella, and indeed, very tall.

Absolutely a fantastic interview! I have emailed Inception a few times regarding the Stella kits and they have always been fast and as helpful as can be.

I just recently picked up a Stella kit and can't say enough good things about it.

I nearly never do this. I'm going to necro a thread here. Wound up down a deep rabbit hole last night and came across this interview from nearly four years ago. Still a great read, and for the folks on here who haven't seen it, a little insight into the industry side of paintball.

One of the highlights of my paintball season is always bringing adult beverages to Simon at Legends, hanging out, and chatting about all kinds of things. It sucked to have to miss that this year, but it's been a bizarre year full of all kinds of challenges. He really is one of those people who makes everyone around him smarter and better, just by being there.

I enjoyed it the first time and enjoyed it equally well the second time.

What Simon says about paint is the most accurate words spoken in modern paintball.
