Simon's truly one of the best in the sport. Amazing inventor and businessman; even better person.

Simon called me short
I didn't realize that he had a paintball influence, before he was with Empire designing their hopper. This is a top notch interview!
Simon, you used to be an automag guy, is there any potential that you see in that platform, anymore?

Great interview!
I was fortunate to meet Simon at World Cup last year. He spent a good amount of time hanging out, going over the awesome products that they have and sharing his huge wealth of knowledge. Overall a great person to talk to and learn from!

I felt like a real paintball nerd taking this picture, but it was just so perfect. Two of the brightest minds ever to grace our sport together, and not as a photo op, but as a couple guys talking about cool guns. Moments later, they were leaning on the edge of the Inception booth/trailer, chatting about high performance ATV's.
So very glad to be able to call Simon a friend, and exceptionally happy to have him as a cornerstone of the industry that allows our sport to be fun!

I agree, and he is genuinely a nice guy
I still think the Axe is his greatest inception (yes, intended, obviously)..... what a fantastic gun for the price.

Great Write-up/Interview. I was very happy to see you mention the legendary Xmag a handful of times It was a fun time on Automags.org to see all of the prototypes coming out of AGDE. I think that is why I gravitated towards the platform. I always respect people when they put their money where their mouth is. You took a huge leap of faith and I'm happy things are going great.
As you know, the automag folks do miss you. Luckily, we have guys like Luke's Custom, Xmagterror, and Sandman filling in the void. I believe it is up to the consumer to support our community as much as we can.
I hope to see you on the field this year at Tunaball. My plan is to finish one of the prototype Aztec Xmags and it would be awesome to play along side you with it.

Oh so amazing to have had the chance to work with Simon and talk with him about tech! He is truly one of evil geniuses of the sport these days and I always look forward to seeing what he is cooking up next.
I'm sure PBEx this year will be a blast with lots of fun new things coming from Inception!

-Would have been even more perfect if that was actually an Autococker, and not, you know.. a pump.
Great article! Now I know how other people feel when I brag about some of my accomplishments.
Can't wait to see what else rolls out of his shop. Oh, and Simon? if you spot somebody in the bushes outside your shop, taking notes and muttering something that sounds like "why didn't I think of that?", pay him no mind.
Doc.

Excellent read. Didn't know much about Simon or Inception Designs, so it gave me a better impression of his impact on the sport. Cheers

Simon you made the Vents / Helix mask ?!? I love that mask, I have 12 of them that I have ready in case I come across a kid that needs a thermal mask. Excellent mask and very durable plastic. I vacuum-seal the thermal lens with a FoodSaver when I store them, they are quite precious to me. Thanks for this awesome contribution to paintball and I will keep eyes on your newer innovations

Great piece!
A full list of the gear Simon has designed or helped designed would be an awesome thing to see.
Also this, so much this:

Stop selling and using hard paint. Stop posting up pictures of people covered in welts and bragging about it. More making sure everyone is enjoying themselves and having a good time, especially the new players.
