Pretty sure I saw a guy on Image using an old school cocker. In another game I caught on the webcast I think I saw someone shooting an old trilogy pro cocker.

I think uglyduck hit the nail on the head in this thread. Modern mechs have gotten so good and have now reached into the high end so the only reason to shoot an autococker or automag really is nostalgia. The more competitive these mech tournaments get the less it will be about nostalgia and the more about winning it will become.

I saw a couple automags and plenty of autocockers over the weekend.

While I wasn't there I had a good friend playing for one of the VM teams and he was pretty disappointed he didn't see more classic guns out there. Most of the guys I play with have an Emek or a M170R but we all shoot cockers because they were our favorites 20 years ago and we want to enjoy things like we did 20 years ago.

Now when ICPL rolls around into Chicago I don't know what I'll end up shooting. I've got an Emek in my bag that shoots pretty good but I just love the way my cocker shoots. I can shoot it pretty well with both hands so I don't now that an Emek really does a lot for me from a ROF perspective but if my cocker so much as looks at me funny I'll probably switch over.

It really depends, are you trying to just play and have a good time or are you trying to win?

If youre just trying to have a good time rock the **** out of your cocker, if youre trying to win the event, play with a modern mech.

I disagree. My cocker shoots over a case on an 88. I cant even touch that efficiency with any of other modern mechs. Not super important for all the fields but for hyperball it really comes in handy. I still think well built cockers have a place in the modern mech revival. There just isn't a ton of people that are super confident in using them.

I'm with you on that. The space mechs are fun and can be a cheap way to get into that style of play but the don't come close to the same consistency and feel of a well tuned autococker. I can shoot my slide frame SFL faster than my one of my friends with his CVO. I don't break paint in my cocker, every space mech I've ever shot had problems with that no matter what loader you're running.

I like my emek too for different reasons but I think if you know what you're doing a well set-up cocker will run circles around it. My kids though prefer shooting the emek because it's easy and almost as good as a cocker.

Lasoya bunkered a guy by poking him in the back with his barrel. Other than that not much happened.

The old Lasoya would have unloaded on him and gave the guy a concussion like he did to a dude in Denver back in the day. I was watching on tv and about fell of my couch I was laughing so hard at him just poking the guy in the back.
