We would have been in California if it was more conducive for manufacturing, but we didn't want to get added to the list of mfg who had gone out of business trying to be successful in the US. RIP GAP, RPS, RAGE, and countless others.

Paintball's are expensive and hard to make, congrats to those who are still making it happen!

I think the whole paintball manufacturing economic/business side of things is pretty interesting. Wasn't Dye making god tier paint for like a year? I remember original early/mid 2000s ultra evil being amazing and I assume there is good reason they don't make it like that anymore. Not like they lost the recipe. I assume it has a lot to do with just the challenges of consolidated industry, shrinking market, and a kind of commodity manufacturing model.

Early 2000s gas was $1/gallon, the highest consumption product we use in Paint is a derivative of oil and goes up and down with crude pricing. I know with our facility its the single biggest factor of what our paint needs to sell for so we can be profitable.

Interesting, I always figured it was a more vegetable oil base not crude oil derivative. shows how much I know. Has there been more automation in the manufacturing process since that early 2000s era or has it stayed the same?

Vegetable oil is terrible for the environment and no one should use it.

It's a pretty labor intensive process at our facility. You can watch some videos of how paintballs are made on YouTube.

Personally, I hate saying "semi pro". It's still D1 to me.

They are their own brand of paint that is made in Mexico. Mikko Huttunen, former Ironmen player, has a hand in this. Their paint is pretty solid and well made.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
If you have questions, please post them in the Talk to Mods/Admins forum.
