Hello everyone! I was wondering what barrel length do you guys use on your phantom? I love the stock phantom barrel and the detent rings work fine, but I am thinking about picking up a Deadlywind barrel to use my SS freak inserts.

My question is does length make a difference when using a barrel that takes standard freak inserts? Is the 6" or 8" too short or should I stick to a 10" or 12"?

Length is really just personal preference, I tend to like 10-12” on my phantom just to help with aiming. Standard freak inserts are around 5” so I would think 6” would be too short on a deadly winds if you want any porting, which you probably do. If you want to go super short I would look at the c-bored CCI barrels as they have the internal muzzle break and good porting on the end.

I use a c-bored 10" barrel (not sure what it's sold at it measures 11-12" including threads. I used to have one of the old dye 1 piece aluminum phantom barrels that I swore by but I sold it a decade ago.

Ive had micro phantoms with a 8" barrel and it felt awkward to aim because of the lack of barrel to guide shots.
