is it a ul with ul 14" tip and a ul-s with ul-s 15" tip"?

because i think the older UL is actually softer and quieter.

Same tip length, both are 15” - using the old cf back with the longer control bore

Last edited by vmolo : 06-24-2020 at 09:15 PM. Reason: Double checked tip length

ok but did you use the old tip and the new tip? because the new uls tip has extra holes in it. and was this old ul back vs cf back or old vs new uls aluminum both in the same bore? you need to clarify exatly what parts you used for the comparison.

Barrel 1
.692 Cf back, ul tip

Barrel 2
.692 Cf back, ul-s tip

Tips are the exact same length
exact same barrel back.

The tip porting is the variable.

UL-S sounds deeper which makes sense due to the intended design characteristics. The porting pattern attempts to cancel out/mask some of the acoustic signature.

The regular UL sounds better? lmao UL-S has more of a bang sound; while the classic UL has the queef sound (which IMO is preferred).

The UL-S is a deeper sound. To me I can’t tell a difference when shooting them myself, but when downrange the UL-S sounds like it is farther away. The original is definitely not “wooshier.” It has less porting a lot less porting which even if you don’t buy into the porting stages, still gives it a disadvantage at dissipating as much sounds as the UL-S.

You should notice the UL-S has a "flatter" sound. It's kind of dull sounding... that's a result of the frequency tuning.

Great video comparison. In my opinion I prefer the UL-S sound signature just judging based on the video. I like that "thud" over "swoosh" sound.
