Nope, it's your standard reprap style machine. It's just a special filamen, and a well tuned print head/print parameters. Don't quote me on this, but I believe the filiment is a prototype filiment, I don't think it's something you can buy yet.

I've been checking in on this project periodically since the beginning, and I can't wait until it comes to fruition. It's like the eigenbolt thread all over again, minus the infamous "tomorrow" posts.

Matterhackers.com sells the carbon filament in the US. They are the best source of filament in my opinion.

http://www.matterhackers.com/store/3...-3.00mm-075-kg

That is the direct link to 3mm filament, they also have 1.75mm.

Here is my XMT carbon fiber bodied mag. This thing is super light and quiet. AGD also makes carbon fiber frames, but I liked the look and feel of the Nummech.

Can’t believe this was started over 10 years ago!! I know life and more happens but I should would have loved to see this completed. I only come back to pbnation once a year at the most. Even still, I always check this thread.

Edit: annddd holy ****! I’ve been a member of PbN for 15 years this month! Time sure flies...

Unfortunately for you guys, the virus has only increased my "day job" work load so that's not likely to happen. I did move the box of parts to another area the other day though...progress! haha

There aren’t many emails I get that would have me open and click the link immediately. Notification of your reply in this thread is one of the few...and all we got was a lousy box moved. 😂😂

I hear you, and understand being busier during the last year though. Which is weird...so many people have been out of work and struggling. Meanwhile, some of us have never been busier. I work in automation and robotics within a medical plastics manufacturer. It’s bonkers how far the plant is behind. Still.

thanks guys. I still have everything, and its not even burred in a closet somewhere. I see it every time i go into my office.....sitting there...taunting me....haha.

I have a whole lot of new toys that should help the cause as well. I just need time!!

Also if you don't mind looking thru gobs of other random photos, all the originals are burred in my facebook photos. Not as cool with the narrative to go with them, but at least you can see some of the work.
