Tim was exactly this from everything that I've read and seen about him over the years. I think that's the best takeaway from him as a paintball figure, conduct yourself off the field in a way that you want remembered. If we're all better ambassadors for the game maybe we can make up a little bit of what we've lost in Tim.

Just crushed for all the people that now have a hole in their life where he was until just a few days ago.

Crazy sad news. I remember seeing him play when he was on the All Americans(shows you how long it's been since I've been to an event), but always enjoyed watching his career. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Growing up playing in Pittsburgh, Tim was one of the great legends and a hero to me as a kid. They say never meet your heroes, but when I got the chance to meet him at a practice, he was the ultimate exception to that rule. He couldn't have been nicer to some random kid who wanted an autograph and to shoot the **** about back in the day even though he was plenty busy. I'll miss his fiery pregame pump up speeches and his captivating write-ups about balancing life and the pro player grind.

RIP TM40. You will be missed dearly.

Goes to show you what the paintball community is like and the bond people have from all over the world some have met him and some haven’t but all still share the same respect and love for a person that showcased our sport in a positive way . That’s why I can never fully leave this sport some of my closet friends I made from playing paintball . Carry on the legacy of Tim by loving , enjoying and respecting the game that we all love that brought all of us here together to know a part of Tim . Life is crazy life is short .

Grief and mourning are probably the hardest of human emotions to process. It is far healthier to focus on memories of his life and quality time you may have spent with him, or even quality time you had because of him. For those that knew him, my deepest condolences to you and may those memories bring you peace through these times. I think the entire sport will have to adapt going forward and find a new "normal" now.

When I was 12 years old and just started playing paintball competitively...the first jersey I ever purchased was a Tim Montressor 2007 Americans jersey (hence my join date, I came to this website just to find his jersey to purchase). Anyone who knows me knows I wore that thing to every event, practice, and tryout for the next 5 years because that's who I envied. I always wanted to be like Tim. We lost a legend this week. Life comes at you fast...please take every moment and enjoy it.

I always wanted to do more exclusive work with pros. He was on my list. Never got to meet him but was an inspiring figure nonetheless. R.I.P Tim.
