If i remember correctly, the NXL said at the beginning of the year they would be bringing the top couple teams from EU and from other parts of the world. Kinda part of the pro tour that was suppose to happen this year.

Unless travel restriction are lifted, no one from outside of the US will be attending World Cup, if it even happens at this point.

Hopefully everything works out and the NXl can start holding events again.

Id be very curious to hear the thought process that led the nxl to pick this team out of all the other better candidates. Dart board method seems to be the one that makes the most sense so far

I have always wondered about their thought process, but it is the only national league we have!

1 division will have a layup. The rest will have to play all Pro teams....

This is the sports world we live in now.... Forget fairness. Earned means nothing... It is all about optics....

They might as well let the ladies play Pro also... Every sport needs a Danica Patrick.

Wild for sure. I do think it’s cool that another region is being represented, though!

I wonder if in future years we’ll see larger Pro divisions (24-32 teams) and some teams will just be small fries until they decide to hang it up, their players get poached etc.

Some of the “Pro” teams never really win a game ever.

Even if these guys bought their spot, who cares?

It will be interesting to see some new people playing, hopefully they are pretty good...

I suggest that other Pro teams learn some Spanish because their Callouts will probably be in it, so it would be useful to know what they are saying.

I'd wait for an official announcement from the league. With no real announcement on anything happening going forward, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the league opens up the pro division to international teams.

I would, personally, write this off as a ruse.

OK, I don't think it is fake.

I remember the NXL wanting to have a more international World Cup. But man, what a year to try and do that.

Whether they earned the spot or not, more international teams makes the game more exciting and possibly new eyes on the sport. This isn't soccer, basketball or baseball. This is paintball and it's still niche. Getting a team from a region outside our norm IMHO will help grow paintball in the long run. So if this is true, I'm rooting for them, I need paintball to still be around when I get old.

It just waters down what it means to be pro. Now just being a paintball team with some spare money outside the USA can mean you also can play pro? Guess I will just need to change a D3 teams hometown to Rio De Janeiro and I got a spot?

Like at least can they be sensible with the teams getting the spot. Why the hell wouldnt TonTons get the spot if you want more international?

First off this is still all rumor, nothing official yet from the NXL. That being said I am not so informed to know what the total costs would be for a committed pro team to play a whole season. It would be ignorant to imply that any team can do it as long as they have money. There are commitments, overhead and logistics to think of, across multiple different people in sync together to make this happen.

Why not an established team like the TonTons get the spot?

Maybe they were not asked? Maybe they lack the funding? Maybe they are not the target region internationally the the paintball market want to push? OR I don't know, maybe they don't want to play pro? There are a lot of factors to think about on what qualifies as a pro-team that is ready to make that bump up to the big leagues let alone ones that have the drive and commitment to stay there.

Ignorant to imply that to do it as long as they have money... states that Tontons may not have gotten it spot doe to lack of money.

so... is it about having the money to go or not?

The rumor going around Vegas if I remember correctly was the nxl was going to bring over the best 4 teams from nxl europe to play pro at world cup. With everything going on I'm not sure they're will be any nxl Europe events to pull from so who knows what's going on.

Congrats to the wild dogs we practiced them and played them in Vegas. The team is fast and plays aggressively. Wish them the best of luck.
