9/17 - 3 Man - Dynamic Autism Charity Event! (This is a for fun event and no longer counts towards Season Points, , still counts towards sponsorship)
There are a few significant changes to the upcoming season.
First, we are constantly looking to resolve problems. We noticed that including the Autism event in the B.C.S. point structure was causing a few issues. Due to using refs for this event that have not been the ref's all year, teams pointed out that rule enforcement or sometimes lack thereof could cost a team the championship. Also, since this is supposed to be a fun charity event, having that level of competition and strife isnt what the event is about. Therefore, the B.C.S. champions will be determined by the first 5 events. However, the last event still is a Blitz event and will count towards sponsorship attendance.
Now the second matter is price adjustments moving forward. As most of you know. The Colorado minimum wage law passed and will move Colorado's minimum to $12 by 2020 and it starts immediately. Blitz has not raised tournament prices in 8 years and has only raised sponsored rates at 50% of inflation. In 2016 teams spent only $5 more per player than they did in 2006 playing on dirt with one Airball field. We have striven to keep prices as low as possible.
Moving forward in 2017 we will adjust prices to account for some inflation and the first rounds of the wage increases. *
Here is a list of the 2017 tournament prices as well the new sponsorship program. These prices will not cover the entire increase in wages by 2020 so keep in mind we will have future adjustments.
