Not wrong, but dunno if that's the 12 million dollar problem. Quality control seems to suffer through the whole supply chain.

I do think the field grade has a stupid thick shell and hurts like a bastard when you get shot compared with the HK/APX stuff I've shot recently and that's for sure on GI.
Seems like we've had opposite experiences. Our field does store paint responsibly, and I've found the field grade stuff to be mostly OK. To add to that, the only time I've ever experienced the lint issue has been with batches of 5 star at events. Everyone elses mileage may vary though, obviously.

Not sure why you are up in arms about this. When I clean the old grease out of my gun handily the lint comes along for the ride, and it effects nothing.

  • Soft goods - You own JT for christ sake, use that for jerseys, pants, masks, packs and pads. That's one of the most iconic brands in the game, not using it to the full potential is stupid. All the other masks like the ev3 and v force stuff just make them JT too.
  • Guns - Use the Empire branding for this, i think most of their stuff already is so this should be easy.
  • Loaders - Last I checked they owned viewloader, again that's another iconic brand that is for all intents and purposes dead so bring it back. You have a VL revy again, a VL LVL and all the rest of their loaders.

I don't understand why they've let things get as bloated as they have with the number of brands. Tippmann is the one brand I don't really know what you would do different with but they need to do something because that Emek is really eating their lunch in that market.
That is a good idea, but at the end of the GI bought those companies, so I don't they would give you their own name even if it's the smarter move.

Considering the resurgence in mech paintball over the last few years, that design was way ahead of the curve.

The Draxxus Rec Sport paint was by far the thickest hardest paint ive shot/been shot by in years. I felt like I got beat by sticks the day after with how sore my body was.

G.I. SPORTZ INC. ANNOUNCES KEY MILESTONE IN RESTRUCTURING PROCESS

Receivership order establishes clear path for sale of business to Kore Outdoor

MONTREAL, October 22, 2020 – G.I. Sportz Inc., a global leader in the manufacturing of high-quality paintball products, today announced details of its restructuring plan designed to strengthen the company and ensure uninterrupted service to its customers worldwide.

On October 15, 2020 G.I. Sportz Inc. and its US affiliates (the “Companies”), were put into receivership. The Receivership Order appoints KSV Restructuring Inc. as receiver (the “Receiver”) of the Companies’ property, assets and undertaking.

The main purpose of the receivership proceedings is to complete a sale of the business (the “Transaction”) to Kore Outdoor Inc., an entity that will be owned by the Companies’ majority shareholder, Fulcrum Capital Partners (“Fulcrum”), and shareholders that include members of the management team and Richmond Italia. The Companies’ existing management team will continue to guide the Companies’ operations during the receivership proceedings and will lead the business upon completion of the Transaction. Motions to approve the Transaction are scheduled and, subject to approvals, the Transaction is expected to close on or before November 30, 2020.

Fulcrum’s support of the process and its willingness to invest in the business reflects its strong belief in the Companies’ long-term prospects. The Transaction provides great opportunities for the business that will allow it to focus on growth, be better capitalized and continue to operate on a going-concern basis in the long term.

Greg Collings, Chairman of G.I. Sportz and a partner of Fulcrum, stated, “we are committed to continuing to serve our customers and the paintball community around the world, and this transaction is an important step to enable us to maintain our leadership. Our team has made great strides in recent months to restructure the business during the unprecedented challenges resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. We look forward to working closely with the exceptional management team to grow the business.”

Billy Ceranski, President of G.I. Sportz, added, “this restructuring puts us in the ideal position not only to serve our customers at the highest level, but also to strengthen our company in this ever-changing environment. We will continue to support our brands and the market for years to come."

"The Companies are continuing to operate in the normal course during the receivership proceedings. There will be no interruptions to G.I. Sportz’s ability to deliver goods and services to the paintball market."

About G.I. Sportz Inc.

The Companies manufacture and distribute paintballs, markers and related accessories. The Companies serve a global customer base of paintball fields and stores. G.I. Sportz Inc. is recognized as a global leader in the manufacturing of high-quality paintball products which are marketed to individuals at all levels of play, from entry level to competitive play market segments.

So, the same people running things, just under a different name. Makes sense

Sounds to me like someone ran up a lot of debt and will now will screw over all the people that they owed by "settling" for a fraction of what was originally owed. Nobody wins in a bankruptcy....except the people running the company into the ground, then claiming bankruptcy, and then buying it back at a lower cost.

Sounds to me like a good reason not to support a company, as a paying customer. It's a shame that valken paint is crap at scenario events.

It’s the American way. If Richmond wasn’t Canadian I’d fully expect him to run for president soon.

I figure either the GI management actually care about and want to grow paintball, but they're not competent - or, more likely, they don't actually care at all about paintball and are content to play what sure as heck looks like a corporate shell game.

What's more telling about the state of paintball as a whole is that there are no well financed competitors springing up.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
If you have questions, please post them in the Talk to Mods/Admins forum.
