When the guys playing pro make enough to only be pro players I'd say you're right. When only a few guys get paid to play I say get everything you can.

So one thing I forgot about, don't rosters typically lock for the second to last event so hypothetically rosters should be locked for Cup? I could be wrong, the rona has ****ed all kinds of stuff up as it is.

Until you're handed a check to play this game, it's hard to judge A-Rod or any other player swayed by a payday.

What I'll add is this... Well funded "super-teams" have been disappointed by teams full of guys with heart, and that love playing for each other. That has been happening since the terms "super-teams", "all-start squads", "stacked teams", etc. were coined. IN EVERY SPORT.

There is almost always some level of hate for the well funded super team... But somewhere, right now, there's a group of guys training for the big upset.

This really isnt a good take. I can just as easily speculate that Dye's contract was on an event-by-event basis. Maybe Bart came in and offered three events pay for one. Dave and Co. know who they're working with - hell, I'd be willing to bet the Dye folks are happy for Arod the person to get paid because his music career has been completely stalled since February. ****, for all we know the Dye Guy's called Bart and said something like "we cant pay him, he's a good dude, do yall have a spot?" It's better for the sport as a whole for Arod to get paid, regardless of who/what/when/where/how.

I would say it's possible he's just playing this event with them due to the fact the Ironmen aren't playing cup.

I wonder if Arod agreed to play cup with Impact before Ironmen decided to play. This is a tricky situation.

Good take. I just feel like the guys in the Dye ownership group from a paintball competition standpoint probably don't like Impact very much.

That’s because they’ve become the farming team for impact. Look at impacts roster. Where did mouse, Brandon Cornell, Spicka, Resar, and now Arod all come from? I feel bad for Todd and the staff though..

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
