The last two LV1.6’s I’ve seen near me have not been touched at all as far as tuning goes. Just straight out of the box. Efficiency might’ve suffered from what the owners have said, but paint handling seemed among the very best. I’d say the elite paint handling markers are- DSR, Force, Geo 4, M3+, and Adrenaline TM40.

The Force,
Once I’m able to burn through 7-8 pods and a hopper ( using an 80ci tank ) I’ll be beyond sold on the Force. After some back and forth contemplating I’m sticking with my Gloss Black and not going for anything else. It’s very much my cup of tea atm and a huge relief. Not just on the wallet but my time as well. I want to see if I can rack up 750k + shots on mine. Might be hard to do if I’m spending more time shooting mechanical though.

That's what I'm saying. You didn't include it in your list after just mentioning how well it handles paint.

Thanks Stealthy & Imped.
Have to find what works for me. My problem is that I’m always playing with something different. That should be ending soon.
On a side note or question, is there a way to mark posts here to find at a later time?

Force number 50 (my old one) was not seeing anything close to that. Maybe it had a small leak? If I can get 400 shots off a 3.5k 45ci fill, I’ll be okay with that. I’ll report back.

The one I bought from you wasn't very efficient but after some tinkering and measuring, I think the shutoff OD seals weren't doing a great job. It got a bit better after that, and then there was the volume reduction of course. Efficiency was my chief complaint but aside from that it's very competent and meets its design objectives.

Not sure what settings Boston Paintball does to the twisters but the dwell on stock is really high I dropped my 2ms out of the box and it shot even better. My 1.6 on an 88ci I have shot a hopper and entire pack 12 or so pods with 0 issues Effienciey is the least of my worries with that marker.

Hey did you ever get your hands on a Macdev XDR? If so, what do you think so far?

Listening to Ryan Smith on a recent PTG podcast, I like his idea of competitive paintball. Blind layout and limited paint. 12 pods sounds like fun but I lean more towards the meager style, more old school. Sneaky moves. Not stock class but a little more. I wouldnít mind even seeing mechanical events played on speedball courses, but use a few less bunkers used.

they are supposed to be sending me and XDR...still have not heard anything on that front... I'm a believer that everyone would love to just have 10 man as a standard format back. it's so so so much fun no matter what you are shooting and what type of field it's on.

Found my HP orings from razgriz. I went against my instincts today and tried one of them in my CC AMP- inner can up front. Think the buna is 50? Had zero problems with my CC today and somewhat held my own on the speedball field. Also using the Adrenaline bolt in my cc. For a mech this thing is an absolute machine. More then once I got a kill off break with it.

Used my M3+ a lot today. Trying to see what I’ll like for the 7 man event which is 15bps, semi auto. With the LTR the M3+ seems like the one. Adjusted the trigger for a lighter pull. Man I’m a little amazed at how much you can adjust the trigger on these, and admittedly an area I’ve not really spent a lot of time on.

Love the 10 man format. 100% agreed Jkat.

And another discovery of the Force, fantastic. Wish I played with mine today and I brought it with me but the CC was just a lot of fun... and the M3+ was awesome today as well.

Finally held and shot a regular DLX TM40 and in some ways I like it better then the Adrenaline TM40. The front grip feels slightly different and it’s an improvement imo. The trigger guard is larger then the Adrenaline version and so I’m able to walk the trigger better. Shot signature seems the same, which is good. The new Luxe shoots very nice. Honestly it’s making me want to try the Shocker AMP again. I think the AMP shoots better and feels better in the hands.

Would you guys feel comfortable playing a tournament with an Etha 2 and carrying 8 pods but only getting a 2.5k fill on a 68/45? I'm trying to decide if I need to use my 90/45 since MPPL fills get bad towards the end of the day. The max we usually get is 3.5k at the beginning of the day.

I would have no issues with playing a Tournament with an Etha 2. I’m sure it would shoot all of that Paint reliably.

Played yesterday with my Dynasty Scales CS1, shot perfectly as usual. I played pretty well, got a bunch of “kills”. This field I go to now has an astroturf Speedball field. I love the astroturf for Superman dives! I slid into D2 a few times and put in work lol.

Let the numbers decide for you -

An Etha 2 can do ~1500 from a 68/4500. 2500/4500 = 0.55. 0.55x1500 = 825, falling short of 8x140 = 1120.

So, you'll have to carry the 90. It's got 32% more volume than the 68, putting you at about 1100 shots from a 90/2500.

Viking,
Playing with an Etha 2 in a tournament sounds like fun. Yeah I’d do it in a heart beat. As a matter of fact yesterday I even asked the owner of my home field if they had any Etha 2’s in stock, as I want to out my spare FLE body on it. The 90 would totally be fine on it as well, I think. I would just add rubber to the front grip.

Charlie,
That’s good to hear. Turf is so nice to play on. I played kind of crummy yesterday. The heat and direct sunlight beat me down. I felt run down. Wasn’t till I drank a Gatorade at the end that I felt way better, almost immediately. And yes I was drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Probably should’ve eaten a hardy breakfast before practice. My Scales just sits... I will get around to selling mine.

Thanks for doing the math for my lazy *** lol. And, Noa, I have some hockey tape on the front and it does a good job for adding some grip. The ID body makes it so much better to play with and I don't feel like it is lacking at all on the xball field.

I'm looking forward to this tournament. It's my first one since COVID and probably my only one this year.

I don't really play tournaments anymore, but I have played numerous scrimmages/practices with several of my previous Etha 2s against some highly competitive players. It hangs in there just fine and honestly with the FLE body it feels just as good as a CS2/M170R on the field.

To double down on the tank discussion, if you have a field with low fills a 90 tank is the way to go. Back when I lived in Montana the fills were always super low and an 88/90 was really a life saver. The Gamma Core is pretty darn efficient, so that will help some.

So I know gamma core/pro paint handling re: the bolt guide orings is pretty well understood by all at this point. Is there a consensus on an alternative oring to use that maybe lasts longer in the second bolt guide oring position? Viton, polyurethane, xring? A fatter metric oring? Or just stick with stock NBR70 013?

Richard Jones 100% believes in polyurethane orings for all the gamma/divorced spool drives. I’ve tried them and so far I think they work better then regular stock orings. I’m not sure if they last longer though, I just know that I tend to break less paint when I use them. Xrings seem pretty good as well, they lasted me a good while before I started breaking paint again. Polyurethane orings in my experience seemed to work the best.
