Just picked up an M3+, I followed the instructions posted in various other threads and the dye video to upload a custom boot screen of my own, and it would not work.
It gets to upload boot screen display and ~instantly~ says "download complete" and my image is a blank white screen.
Any fix for this?
(I'm using m2cbs1, m2cbs1, m2cbs1 & the recommended website to convert jpgs)
***PRO TIP***: Make sure you actually go to the website URL they provide. IIRC....Once a long time ago, I just manually made a BMP at 128x128 pixels in Photoshop and it didn't work....after I converted it using the website link they provide it worked fine. Seems like it should work either way but for whatever reason it didn't.

I'm having the same issue now. Used up slots for 1 and 2 with the same steps.
I took the jpg files and saved them using the IrfanView program.
Resized them to 128x128px / 16.7millions colors
Then all the bmp do have a size of 48kb
Just as a tip for those having issue with this. The file size needs to be below 50kb for some reason. The website was just compressing the size to about ~63kbps which doesn't work.
Thanks for the tip about the file size. I was having this same issue.
Funny note, bought a used M3+ and the guy said the manual was on the flash drive, but I guess he was trying to do this because uh...yeah all that was on the flash drive was nude chicks in 128x128 .bmp format lol
