Firing Modes

One question. Is there any firing modes besides semi auto going to be allowed for dday '09?

As long as only one ball is fired when you pull the trigger and hold it, its legal.

From what I gather semi and ramp are allowed. No multi or full auto.

As I recall, there was considerable discussion on the D-day forum last year as to whether or not allow ramping (which they ultimately did allow).

What doesn't make sense to is that they allow ramping and not burst or auto. Really...what's the difference? Either way you going to get 12+ bps out the barrel.

Something else I don't get are these newer guns like the X7 and the M-Tac with their "on the fly" firing modes. You can switch between semi, burst and auto with a flick of your thumb. No lock, no tools. What's to stop someone from switching back and forth as needed?

Any other perspectives?

They allow ramping and not burst or full auto due to safety concernes. While using ramp you can shoot many balls per second but not with just one trigger pull. You must keep up a certain rate of pull to keep in ramp. Thier current policy is pull once and get one ball. NXL ramp however is not allowed due to the fact that after like 3-4 pulls it turns to full auto.

There is no formal cap on ROF, but overshooting is not allowed. If you manage to put 25 balls in the air and all hit the same target, you may be asked to leave. Shoot all you want, but don't abuse your target.
