Which is exactly what you are doing to the mech circuit. You are telling them how it should be played by agreeing with the RoF war. You are saying it doesnít suit your style of play. Which is fine. If you want to shoot fast there are already formats fill that need for you. Let the mech format be what it was intended to be.

We're shooting 10.5 bps for standard tournament ball (except the 7's series, but that's in upside down Aussie land). Plenty of mech guns can hit that in a burst.

I believe the intent was to:
1. Play with mechanical markers

What would be your feelings if this valve setup was how the guns came stock?
You're an absolute fool if you think people aren't going to try and squeeze every bit of performance out of their markers wherever possible. You're still constrained by mechanical markers not having eyes, someone having to maintain trigger stamina, and manage accuracy. The way the CVO is set up you can get that thing going pretty darn fast and there's old autocockers that when set up right can shoot very quickly. If you think that shooting quickly is the ultimate indicator of skill and ability to win in this sport I've got a glass cactus for you to insert into an orifice that will not be named.

There are already rules in place about things like RT's or pneumatic markers with double triggers so it's not really so cut and dry.

I always felt Planet tried to keep the ROF on the low side with the slide frame Gmek, but players wanted more speed.

I know what I said was a gross oversimplification to drive home a point. I'm in rare form today John, I apologize for my outburst.

Go play xball if you want more RoF.
Seriously? You stand by that comment?

That's asinine, 10 man mech was brought back because people wanted to drink beer with their homies, paintball and chill, shoot cockers, and do hoodrat things in their 40's. The lower rate of fire is a side effect, not the purpose.

People got straight up bored with inflatable pillows and small *** fields. That's why 10 man came back, because it's fun.

I agree with the other guy.

First off... When you speak for the entire class you usually end up looking like a donkey.

For me the mechanical movement is 100% about a slower rate of fire. What do I care if the gun has a solenoid or a 3 way valve other than ROF?

If the mech movement is not about ROF why aren't R/T triggers or that Superfast Gmech 3 way valve allowed?

I think the slower rate of fire is also the purpose as well. Otherwise, we'd all just be using electronic guns. It's one of the reasons the ICC worked so well. They allowed people to use the guns they already had.

While you are correct we don't allow free News posts to have pricing and links, you're incorrect about it in this case.

I spoke to Colin (owner of Deadlywind) earlier today and he said, "No official price or date yet.. someone got excited and took a ballpark number mentioned in earlier conversations and ran with it."

How will this work with the Bang Switch Colin ?

Personally I could care less about 10 man rules.

I’m good with the race wars, so long as we never include any type of eye system into the breech of the marker. People ripping on these guns at 10+ balls a second will eventually turn their gun into a blender, either from short stroking or chopping, or from the loader using the strongest force setting on the more brittle paint.

When I try and rip on my Adrenaline CVO, I usually end up with a blender. I’ve found much more success with the stronger sear spring than the lighter one, and my normal streams are somewhere in between the 5.5 and 10.2 caps of both types of paintball, which is probably where mech needs to be.

PE knows that less paint = more fun, but the hardcore customer does not. What's the point of a mech marker if it's going to shoot just as fast as one that's got electronics? The race to shoot the fastest was supposed to be over with. This is almost depressing.

If you don't like it, don't buy it

If there was never another tournament ever again paintball would still survive.

Exactly. Of course teams want a competitive edge in a competition sport.

Hey deadly winds can you release a full auto valve? Why? Because.

Paintball News Rules
  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
