OK, so I confirmed this is real. There should be more foreign teams joining the pro division for World Cup.

In future years, hopefully without a pandemic, teams will get a chance to play in their respective countries for their chance to compete at Cup in the Pro division.

It sounds like most (all?) pro teams from Europe might have a shot at playing Cup as Pros as of right now.

Interesting. Is this a “World Cup only” thing? If so, I wonder if it makes sense for a top foreign semi-pro team to play? For example, if next year there’s a full season, and Ton Tons (or someone else) play Semi-Pro all year and do well, they could win the top seed and move up to Pro right? But it they play SP for most events, then Pro at Cup, how will that effect their season point total and ability to move up? Will the best international teams actually decline playing Cup’s pro division to try to win the SP division and get a permanent spot?

  1. No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
  2. Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
  3. If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
  4. Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
If you have questions, please post them in the Talk to Mods/Admins forum.
