GoPro Hero $199 a good option?

Is the GoPro Hero that is currently priced at $199.00 a good starter camera for PB? I am not wanting to drop $399 on a Hero 6, but def want to dabble in the video editing side of the sport... Hero 5 Session isn't completely out either, I just like the fact that I can swap batteries with the current model Hero....

Any thoughts would be appreciated

I use the original hero+LCD and it take great video and the audio sounds decent for what it is.

Nice! Yeah I just can't justify the $399 yet... Just want to start documenting the weekend merc sessions!

The GoPro is pretty much the gold standard of action cameras. Although I am more of a Sony fan I am not sure if they still make action cameras. I know that there was a pretty big deal with one that used to post alot here on the Nation many years ago. Pretty nice and durable, kind of the size of many of the tactical flashlights. The only bad thing about it was that it did not have a swapable battery. They did offer a plug in battery that like tripled the amount of time that a person could film for. Not sure if they still make them anymore, but they were pretty nice.
