They're either not making enough money, or they feel as if the game has played itself out. Attendance is dwindling, the shopping mall area is a shell of what it once was, and the game just got old.

They're still doing events, just not D-day anymore.

That's understandable. Still blows but I get it. It was one of those games I always wanted to make but it's literally across the states to get there and money is a thing. It's funny looking back at the last 20 years of playing and that sudden "You're getting old, man" hits hard when you remember a game being one thing and now it's another...

I'd always wanted to give D-Day a go, and looks like I finally can. I've played Fulda for a few years, and commanded units there now for 3, and wanted to give D-Day a shot. Just signed up for the Brandenburg Kommandoes and excited to get out and play it!

I've wanted to go ever since I was younger and never managed to make it. When I found out this year is the last one, i knew I had to go. I dug out my old A5 from storage and have been getting her back into working order. A few mods on the way also 😊. I will be on the German side with the Kommandos.

Great review. I've been several times and this will be my last unless new ownership takes over.

The lack of field prep was dangerous. The lack of chrono was alarming. The lack of any paid medical staff was outright negligence. Cancelling Friday was borderline fraud.

My personal theory is an insurance person showed up Friday and with the lack of medical and wouldn't underwrite the event. That would explain the scramble Friday to get medic's for Saturday. As you said, there was no difference in the heat Friday from Thursday or any other day of the week.

So good news, operations were handed over to new management after the event. Check out Mudcrab Milsim to see what it's all about. Definitely have an emphasis on professionalism. We hate to see the field die. It's a massive field with a long history. We're putting a ton of renovations and love into it this year and are hoping to bring it back to it's glory days. Also having a replacement for OK D-Day coming up.
