Does anybody have experience with both this hAir valve and the bang switch? How do they compare?

I've shot both.

I had a bang switch in my gun before the hAir. I thought it made the trigger slightly shorter but not much/any lighter.

Sitting here comparing my two Emeks, the hAir feels lighter and it is easy to set the trigger pull silly short. With the Bang Switch, we had to make sure to set the trigger longer (especially with travel after the pull) because otherwise we ran into issues with the gun failing.

@john Did you adjust or shorten the trigger after the installation? Any information on this or is it just a drop and play kind of thing.

Thanks

I was able to drop the valve in and not adjust the trigger at all and the Emek worked great. Then I added the aftermarket trigger and the gun still worked great. Then I adjusted the trigger significantly shorter because I knew people would want a shorter trigger pull for the video. I could have easily adjusted the trigger even shorter.

I can try and answer this:

There is no reason why this valve should effect the reliability of the drivetrain or the regulator. The rest of the gun that the valve attaches to will work as it should, and be as reliable as it is with the stock 3-way.

Obviously I cannot comment on the reliability of the valve itself, as I haven't endurance tested it myself, but I trust Colin/Deadlywind to make a good product (They make all our FL barrel fronts, after all) and if any issues were to arise, to sort them out. He cares deeply about his products and his name. It's why we work with him. He has very much the same ethos and work/business ethic as us. He's good people.

I certainly have no issue with people using this product, in our product. Hopefully that is comfort enough for most.

Wow. nice endorsement.. My admiration of PE grows with every post like this. Jack... you are a true ambassador of your company. I hope that they appreciate all you do. I have been a DW supporter since the beginning. Just recently became a PE fan because of the emek platform.

Cant wait till this afternoon when my valve arrives.

^Are they going to open up every Planet Eclipse Marker and make sure they don’t have this inside?

That would take forever...

Plus, the new CS2 mechanical Trigger Frame will also be super fast.

I wonder how that will work?

It’s not aftermarket but not stock either...

It would have already happened. As long as it's single trigger and not reactive it's fine.

@John I just got done watching your video testing the new valve and I do really think you did a good job showcasing the part. While I don't personally own an Emek, I will say you showcased its potential! It looked very smooth to shoot and I'm sure will add to the markers popularity.

You are too kind. If you're ever down here playing in StL, say hi.

Since the gun doesn't have eyes and there were no blank or missed shots, a faster loader wouldn't have done anything in this instance.

Mine showed up about an hour ago. Popped it in my M170r, adjusted the trigger screws a bit and the marker is off and humming.

This valve allows the trigger to be set very, very short and the pull is extremely lightweight. If you are looking for more speed from your Emek or M170r, this will get you there.
