marq vcom experiment

trying to get a fabrication of the ram for the spool engine; instead of aluminum, i want the ram to be made of brass. my theory is that it will make the shot quality better than it already is.
- higher dwell time to accommodate the added weight of the brass.
- lower lpr pressure?

thoughts?
no matter what anyone says, im still gonna get it fabricated. i really want to know if it makes a difference or not. ever since i saw the brass ram for the insight engine, i thought why wouldnt it work for the vcom engine?

input is appreciated
thanks!

Probably not lower pressure but it might shoot slightly smoother with Brass. The same principle was used in the Insight NG to slow the Bolt down a little.

exactly. lower max rate of fire as well. but that doesnt matter since it is so low nowadays. thanks for the reply!!!!

Well, since IDK of this being done before I dont know if we could have a good answer for you but I will tell you, that well over a decade ago when a seller on ebay made the same claims for a brass rammer for the alias, I bought into it and when I put it to the test, it kicked quite a bit harder than even the stock ramnmer matter how I tried adjusting the pressure and well settings. With a spool vcom engine I dont see how a heavier back to the bolt would help any since it's only job is to bypass the dump chamber oring that seals it. It would make sense to me if it ever made a difference, it would be with a poppit. IK bob long made a heavier rammer work with the VIS engine, but that is a poppit concept, not a spool. If you do make it happen, let us know how it goes....
