(Another) Double-barrel Ion - but with a twist!

Here's a little (long-term, PITA at times) project I just finished that some of you might find amusing:

It's a mechanical, double-barrel Ion (Vibe bodies, actually) that uses a custom, homemade valve to fire one side on trigger pull and the other side on trigger release. The valve is essentially an Autococker 3-way (is that 5/2 valve?) with a 2-oring shaft and modified dimensions to use standard imperial orings instead of the weird metric ones typically used. The firing assemblies are stock Vibe units with the bolt tails modified to take a second oring to seal the chamber while the bolt is forward.

I don't shoot paint in this video, but have tested it in my backyard and it seems to feed well, even at higher rates of fire. A big concern of mine was whether one side (that left the bolt in the forward position at rest and rearward only while the trigger was depressed) had enough time for a ball to drop down, but it seems to work fine with Rotors.

The barrels are stock, but turned down to a reduced OD (for minuscule weight savings) and the regulator is also stock but the exterior is knurled (for added grip at the cost of potential skin removal).

that.. is interesting. do the mech vibes still benefit from QEVs?
if so i wonder if one valve could operate both systems
at even considerable rates of fire (T fitting)

I used the QEVs mainly because that's what I had instead lying around, but also, it should help in this case. In this configuration, the flow path from the front fitting to the exhaust is way longer than normal, so bolt speed and firing response would be affected. Whether it'd be noticeable or not, idk, but the QEVs here essentially eliminate that potential issue.

There's also the issue of the flow paths on either side not being identical, so velocity could vary from one side to the other. The QEVs should help minimize that too.
