A1 Solenoid Gasket

I had a bad solenoid gasket and since we can't get anymore I decided to run with the ball again. Here is a pic of my hand made A1 solenoid gasket. Just put in in and no leaks! Woo Hoo!

Not sure why, but image wasn't loading for me. If you quote the post and copy the link you'll see it though.

A little liquid gasket in a pinch can work wonders

Might just be me, Opera has been screwing up with Photobucket lately because Photobucket treats Opera as a mobile browser by default.

Oddly enough a Brigs and Stratton dealer. I told/ showed him what I was looking for and 3.00 dollars later, a scan of the original gasket, some rubber cement, approx 10 minutes and a sharp exacto knife blade.

Ahh, nice. I figured you were using liquid rubber gasket from the auto store. That can also work great for stuff like this, especially if it's something recessed that you can mold to.

What can a normal angel user like me do if this happens? My gasket is looking okay, but may be on the edge of getting ratty. Just wanna be prepared.

It's really simple. Just do what I said earlier in the post. I scanned the gasket, cut it just outside the line. Placed it on the gasket material w/the rubber cement. Cut everything out. Removed the paper and cleaned off the rubber cement. 10 minute job.

Same thing as dodgeballers - just spread out some liquid gasket or the rubber cement product like he used on a printed template, cut out the edges with a razor blade, Xacto blade, etc, and you're good to go.

*edit* Too slow

Oh, wow I feel silly. "Scanned" for some reason I thought you meant something more complicated than scanning on a scanner. Derp.

Technically you could just trace it too if you want to go the low-tech route
