Since no one wants to share their settings here are mine for a cool day with all M3+ parts (all other settings are the same):

20 Dwell, 3 ABS at 20 seconds, HPR at 115 for 290 +/-1

Shot perfectly.

Got my m3s+ in on Friday and played with it Saturday and Sunday. I gotta say this bad boy shot (.)(.) all weekend. I updated the firmware to the m3+ stock settings. I left the gun on stock to start out and break the gun in a bit more before I start playing around with the dwell and others settings.

If you don’t mind, what are the new firmware stock settings for the M3+?

I think I might have old firmware, but I don’t have an update cable so I can’t update anyways... I gotta call Dye...

Sure man:
Dwell- 20.0
ABS- 6
ABS wait time- 20
Eye delay- 03
Operating pressure- 110-115 psi

And the new firmware version is 4.01.1

Cool, thanks.

20 Dwell is the maximum Dwell with the old firmware. Does the new version go any higher?

Just wondering... my M3s+ shoots $$ at Dwell 19 & 20 when it’s colder outside.

I also xring'd the 017's in my m3s a while back. Didn't really notice any difference. I have m3+ parts on the way. Do the X's with the new + bolt have any affect on feel/performance?

I’m still breaking my marker in.

However, along with the Vitons I have in the 016 spots I have been able to lower operating pressure a tiny bit.

For example at 115 I’m at 290 FPS while most other people at 115 only get 285 FPS.

Should be more noticeable after I get a few more cases through it...

Kinger, using a different oring material or style isn't going to help you necessarily. The point of xrings is that they're supposed to have a lower drag coefficient. But, if they fut tighter than than your standard orings, they aren't magic, it won't matter.

You have to hand fit them. Basically you want the lowest drag on your dynamic orings that won't cause problems. Grab a bunch of orings in the dynamic sizes, and one at a time, lightly lube and fit on the component they'll be sealing against, noting resistance. Compare these to your existing orings, or your mindlessly wasting time and there may not be a difference. The rings with the lowest drag will yield the lowest dwell/HPR settings, and give you much better reliability in the extreme conditions. I'm sure John will correct me if there's something I'm missing here as relating to the M3s system, but I'm essentially following the same procedure I did with my eigenbolt SFT. It just makes sense thought right? Reduce the amount of force needed to move an object, __________, profit.

My M3s, all M3+ upgrades, on Saturday last weekend. I'm in Michigan, after dark it was 33*F (winter beach bum weather), HPR was left at 115 throughout. I left the marker outside for 30 minutes to cool off, then tried to shoot it at different dwells (starting at 16, working up), leaving 5 min to sit between changes. Factory stock orings my min dwell without bad bolt stick (3+ puff shots to free the bolt) was 19 (pretty good considering I think). Repeat test, tighter fitting xrings stuck even at MAX dwell of 24. I ramped off 20+ shots and it finally broke free. The last round was hand fitted orings, lowest drag regardless of material or style. I shot MINimum dwell (16) zero shots to clear the bolt. This was repeated, legit. I bumped my dwell to 17 just to make sure and called it a day.

I ended up with xrings on both 17's can/top hat, stock brown bolt sail oring, an xring on the valve core 11, and a standard black BN70 on the 12. That's what happened to fit/work best on my marker.

Hope this helps verify that it does make a slight difference. But, that unlike some older platforms (Shocker/Luxe), it doesn't seem like it's going to make a massive dwell/HPR difference. This is in line with a PM string I had with John about M3 tuning when I got it originally. He more or less said it may be a waste of money to invest in fancy orings.

Yeah, most of what you said above I’d agree with.

The Viton material as well as the higher durometer allow less friction and a tiny decrease in operating pressure IME.

You will only get but so much out of it because it already runs around 115 PSI so I wouldn’t expect drastic differences anyways. I mainly did it because I already had the orings and Xrings from my Clone GTi and was curious.

Also, another benefit to Viton orings is they typically last longer than Buna.

I lowered my trigger sensitivity so I can ramp better left handed lol.

The marker is starting to break in now, shooting super smooth with barely any kick. It seems to me like the Orings and Xrings are allowing the slightly lower operating pressure. I think I’ll probably be able to lower it even more after a few more cases.

Here's before and after results m3s and m3s+ using the spire 3 app
M3s 3.03.1 software
Dwell upped to 18
Everything else was left alone
Velocity 276-283 fps
Hpr 111-112 psi
Recoil measured by spire 3 on a scale of 0-100 50.3 avg with a deviation of 4.7 over 22 shots taken

M3s+ bolt, gen4 eyepipe, bwing housing 3.03.1 software
Dwell upped to 20
Everything else left alone
Velocity 273-290
Hpr 111-112psi
Recoil measured 54.5 with a deviation of 4.8, 30 shots taken

I have to admit, I did feel like the shot was somewhat softer and smoother, although my results didn't exactly prove they were. Surprisingly, I didn't have to make any adjustments, other than upping the dwell. Perhaps my findings will differ from others and I also would like to note that all markers will perform differently than mine. There may have been variables that I did not take into account that may have skewed my findings, but oh well. Just thought I would share this with the community, and add to the discussion.

Thanks for sharing your settings and results.

That is definitely interesting that the Spire 3 is reading the M3s+ as having more recoil/vibration than the M3s, it certainly feels the opposite lol.

I wonder what would happen if you ran it at Dwell 18?

Edit: It could be because you have to break in the new M3+ parts while your M3s was already broken in.

Shot about a case and a half on Sunday, bout 39* out. Didn't have any issues with breaks now that I have the + parts installed. However I was having some chuffing. When turning the marker on before a match would begin, 3 out of 4 times the first 1 or 2 trigger pulls would result in a chuff, then the marker would perform flawlessly until turned off.

You can decrease the ABS wait time some and maybe increase the ABS a little too.

Both will help until the new parts are broken in.

Warning: they are kinda expensive but you’ll have enough to last practically forever lol.

You might be able to buy singles from Oring Monkey, I’m not sure though.

Edit: Keep in mind that they must be broken in and they typically take a little longer than Buna to break in, they also need a little more lube while being broken in.
